This class pack provides the opportunity to design and build bridges, and then the thrill of using destructive testing to calculate the efficiency and determine the best design. Bridge building supports a wide variety of curricula, including geometry, physics, technology education, mathematics and general science. In addition to classroom competition, there are numerous state and nationwide competitions held annually which offer recognition and awards.
The class pack contains 24 complete kits that can be used for a classroom activity, or school-, state-, or national-level competitions. Each complete kit consists of 15 pieces of balsa wood, adhesive, and competition design parameters. The balsa wood pieces measure ⅛" x ⅛" x 24" and balsa wood is lighter and easier to cut. Also included in the classpack is a copy of Teaching with Model Bridge Building Program. Designed for grades 6-12.
