4.0 out of 5 stars Let's Go Richie August 14, 2009
Format:Audio CD
Excellent album and gave it 4 stars due to the fact the CD is far too short. This one HAS the complete version of "La Bamba" which is faded out on most releases. I have read up on Richies life and it is really too bad his life was cut real short. Just reading his autopsy report is unbelievable as the other crash victims. Anyway, ad least we got to hear him sing and wonder how far he might have gone in the music business. This one has most of his well known songs but misses a few other key tracks. I got this one at a K Mart for 5 USD. It is worth it just for the track "La Bamba" with the whole ending. So if you have a half hour to spare. get this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars My View April 17, 2008
Format:Audio CD
Eventhough this album has only 10 songs its still good.Ritchie was a true singer.People from the 50's and 60's would love this album.La Bamba,Oh Donna, and more are still the same with no high tech change. That's good since most songs are better left unchanged.

4.0 out of 5 stars Let's "Flashback" To The 1950s! August 14, 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Ritchie had five Top 100 US Entrys during his brief career and all five are included on this ten song Flashback CD. Two of those were Top 40 Hits and they need no introduction. In November of 1958 the Beautiful "Donna" Peaked on the US Charts at #2. You thought his biggest US Hit was "La Bamba" didn't you. Nope! "La Bamba" was the "B" Side and Peaked at #22 on the Charts in December 1958........"Donna" also did well on the R&B and UK Charts Peaking at #11 and #29 respectively. I bought this CD from Amazon in June of 2012 but I have owned a Collectables vinyl 45 of these two classics for decades.

His other three Top 100s here are "Come On, Let's Go"(#42 in September 1958), "That's My Little Suzie"(#55 in April 1959) and "Little Girl"(#92 in July 1959). "Come On Let's Go" did much better on The R&B Charts Peaking at #27.

This 2004 Rhino CD of Ritchie's is one of five Flashback CDs I have and like the other four: it is brief at only ten songs but considering the Artist(s): it is ideal for me. I know it sure brings back fond memories for me. There are two pages of Liner Notes and it comes in the standard plastic jewel case. Although somewhat spotty: the Sound Quality is good. Some songs sound a little better than others.

On February 3rd 1959 Ritchie, Buddy Holly, J.P.(The Big Bopper) Richardson and the pilot Roger Peterson died in an Iowa Airplane crash. Ritchie was only seventeen years old. I was only six years old on that day but I sadly remember it well!

Even though his life was cut way to short: Ritchie has had a huge impact on our lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars His Best September 27, 2010
Format:Audio CD
This has all Ritchie Valens' best songs. I would recommend it to a fan of oldies or just of Ritchie himself.
