I have a very British background and this bow was exactly what I was looking for to get the old medieval archery feel. I love shooting this bow. I'm just a beginner when it comes to archery, but I wsa surprised by how simple this bow was to shoot. Probably the best value out there for someone looking for a good old fashion longbow.

Don't get me wrong: I like this bow. I'm amateur and this bow was a great one to get started with. However, I feel like the deflex design takes a little out of arrow speed and those who wish to put a bow to some practical use would be better off with something laminated with fiberglass, or a recurve but consideration of the huge price of of such a bow relative to this one, makes this bow a very good choice.
I've had this bow for a couple years of moderate use and the lamination has held up beautifully, without any indication that it has degraded at all since I bought it.
Certainly this bow doesn't match up in looks to a nice bow made by Bear or Martin, but when they cost more than 2 times as much, there are few reasons not to give this simple, but well-made bow a try.

I gave this 5 stars because the bow met and exceeded my expectations, was a good value, was shipped quickly, and the seller (bowyer) has since responded to a couple questions I've had. This is a great starter bow and shoots well and shoots as quick as its far more expensive counterparts made from rare wood and created by master bowyers (I chrono'd mine, it shoots normally between 145-152fps [9.96gpp arrows] with the standard string that comes with the bow, which stretches alot). Only wish Woodbows.com sold higher poundage bows. If you're looking to get into traditional archery in the (nearly) strictest sense of the term, I'd highly recommend starting here.
