I bought this item because it was very similar to the Furminator, which was recommended to me by my vet, but the Furbuster brand was much less expensive. I've been using it on my corgi, who has a very thick undercoat and sheds constantly, for over a year. She seems to enjoy being groomed with it, especially when she "blows her coat" twice a year -- one or two sessions with the Furbuster will very effectively remove the loose fur that she'll otherwise shed over the course of a week or so.

I recommend using the Furbuster outdoors, as it takes off a *lot* of hair, which needs to be removed from the blade after 5-10 strokes. It's best to use repeated light strokes, since the blade could scratch the pet's skin if pushed too hard, but most animals' coats will be thick enough to prevent this.

This is the best brush that I have used with my cats. I recommend you place a towel under your cat when using this brush, because of the amount of hair that it removes.

I love this product. It works very well on my long hair dog. it also works on my cats and kitten.
