This product barely removes any hair from by shorthair cat. I'm disappointed because I had owned a different kind of mitt before that always removed lots and lots of fur so that I could minimize the amount of hair that ended up on the couch and bed.

Does take off cat hair but not as much as needed to keep a long haired cat groomed. but is fun to pet you cat with

Our cat HATED being brushed, but a friend suggested this. We ordered it and tried it out thinking it would take a long time before the cat would come around. We were very surprised when she came begging for it after the first use. She will now sit by the glove and meow when she wants to be brushed.

The velcro side is helpful in grabbing a lot of the hairs pulled with the rubber, but not perfect. Overall, great buy for us and we have a happy cat.

I have a Persian mix cat and unfortunately, he has a hard time keeping his long, thick fur clean. Every couple of months, I have to give the poor thing a bath (fortunately, he's kind enough not to claw me for my trouble). I've always had a hard time working the soap through his coat down to the skin. The varied heights of the knobby bits on this grooming glove made it much easier. I usually have to swirl his fur around a long time to work the soap in, which made it more prone to tangling up, but the grooming glove let me do less of that and also allowed me to "brush" the tangles back out again as I went.

There is an adjustable velcro wrist strap at the wrist, though I don't see why you'd particularly need to tighten it around your wrist. More useful is the strap inside the glove for very small hands, which I happen to have. I saw another reviewer complain about large hands not fitting through the wrist hole and I can't speak to that, but I know that without the internal strap my own hand would have been very loose inside. That wouldn't have been so terrible, but the addition of the internal strap is a nice touch that makes it comfortable and well-fitted.

The knobby bits themselves don't get as large and deep as I've seen on other grooming tools, so keep that in mind when purchasing. I don't use it for "deep brushing" on my cat when he's dry. As a bathing tool, however, it's top-notch.

I have two senior cats who are sisters (thankfully I got the pink!). One is super finicky about being groomed, and the other would probably let you groom her with a sock if you tried. Both of them LOVE this mitten. The rubber nodules are softer on their skin than other metal spoked brushes, so it is far more gentile during the grooming process. It sells for over $12 at our local pet stores. The mitten has an elastic band on the inside to fit smaller hands, and it's reversible and washable. The reverse side is marketed as a pet hair remover, and while it does work, there's just NO way it could pick up all the fur that sticks to you during the grooming process. The problem is that if you swipe the glove in the opposite direction on accident, all the fur you've collected is released just as easily as you picked it up. Other than that though, this mitten is great at keeping the kitties purring, even the finicky ones!

This seems to work well, but the wrist opening is very small, and I have to really work at it to get it on my hand, which means I just don't bother with it much of the time.
