I will be upfront and say that I read the intro and not the entire book.

I like her citing the historical realities between the two parties. However, just because Blacks, Latinos and/or women break and vote conservative does not make them "freed" from to false ties the Democratic Party has had them in for decades.

Yes, as a woman and an African...

This review is from: Bamboozled: How Americans are being Exploited by the Lies of the Liberal Agenda (Hardcover)
Based on her experiences as an interviewer and as a Mississippi native - Southern Democrat - turned Republican; Fox News Analyst Angela McGlowan shows the reader how the liberal political agenda is promoted and exploits Americans, especially women, blacks and Latinos.

I thoroughly enjoyed Bernie Goldberg's book, "Arrogance," but "Bamboozled" takes it to the next level. It shows how the Democratic Party takes the minority vote for granted by manipulating media coverage, promoting cradle to grave "nanny" socialism to make us all dependent on an increasingly powerful federal government, reinforcing negative (and false) stereotypes of Republicans, and rewriting their own history of racism, segregation, and exploitation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Book., April 13, 2007
This review is from: Bamboozled: How Americans are being Exploited by the Lies of the Liberal Agenda (Hardcover)
This book is well written and all Black Americans should read it. It makes a very simple point; White liberals think that the only place for Blacks is in their party; some of the topics it contends is that Blacks today 1: have their identity and values defined for them by liberals, 2: the liberal agenda has further deluded the thinking of Blacks Americans that the Republican party is out to get them and that Blacks can't succeed unless they are a part of the left-wing, 3: liberals resort to arcane racial biases in order the shame Blacks into the liberal party.

It goes on to point out that in todays world, Black people are their own worst enemy because they continue to follow, rather than lead ourselves. We still have white people, who have their own best interests in mind, dictating what is best for Blacks, like the post above from Jeanine. The problems affecting Blacks today are not some puppet master white republican who is hiding in the white house, the problem is us. High school dropouts, teenage pregnancy, drugs, immorality. These are the things which liberals want to attribute to the republican party. This tactic only serves to perpetuate the victimization of Blacks and provides an easy excuse for Blacks not to hold themselves accountable. The book highlights the disparity between the morals that are taught in the homes and churches where many Blacks are tendered and the morals held by the liberal party.

I found this book to be extremely beneficial; even more, it is crucial for Blacks to be able to find their own identity in the political world without being harassed by left-wings for not dancing to their ideas. Liberals mascaraed as a party of choice, but don't give Blacks the freedom which to formulate their own opinions, instead, they are forced into a philosophy of life which contradicts the majority of Black life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Read the Book; Don't Let Others Bamboozle You Against It!, April 29, 2007
This review is from: Bamboozled: How Americans are being Exploited by the Lies of the Liberal Agenda (Hardcover)
I skimmed through the book at my local Barnes and Noble yesterday. Before placing an order for it I looked it up on Amazon, chuckling to see the (predictable) one-star ratings. I noted how 'personal' those ratings were. I considered Angela's writing no-nonsense sharp; she skillfully documented critical historical truths about the inglorious legacy of the US Democratic Party, and also pointed out some of their recent lies. The book seemed well-researched. I recommend it to those who don't mind challenging popular (un)wisdom. While some liberals have issues with blind faith their "godless" devotion to their often-nebulous creed can also be no less blind: a reviewer opined "Didn't need to read it." (no way to confirm for whom he voted...twice!) Indeed, without scope-clarification the same reviewer's "at no time heard her say anything of substance" and "rude tactics" meant precious little. Another reviewer deemed it worth mentioning that her "husband purchased this book against [her] wishes." Can a man buy a book that he likes, without permission from his wife? Ad nauseam lies do not convert truth. But those can bury the truth making it less-likely for herd-followers to dig it out, for critical evaluation. And this reality is routinely exploited by the panderers of liberal lies. We "need to read" opinions from BOTH sides, so we are better-informed. Read on your own a book like "Bamboozled" by Angela McGlowan, or "Slander" by Ann Coulter, and judge their merit by the factuality of their findings and the defensibility of their conclusions. The endeavor might be challenging at first but, in the end, you'll likely be far more informed. Let us not allow ourselves to be bamboozled by self-assigned preachers of liberal gospels who shoot charcoals of unsubstantive, unrelated rants about Angela's "Bamboozled".

I've never read this author until now. While the book seemed to start a little slow, it did not take long for her to get to the "meat of the matter". She is witty, thorough, and informative.

Some of her analysis about liberals is so on the money that I found myself saying, "Yes, yes." Just a very well written book with tons of backup for her position.

Ignore the single-star wackos. Their idea of balanced is drool coming out of BOTH sides of their mouths! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars An eye-opener for all who have been Bewitched, Bewildered, and Bamboozled!, April 21, 2007
This review is from: Bamboozled: How Americans are being Exploited by the Lies of the Liberal Agenda (Hardcover)
I was enthralled with this book! "Bamboozled" is an in-your-face expose` of programs, platforms, and politicians that have run amok in American society. Reading it reminded me of a song by Roberta Flack (loosely paraphrased). The author was: "Strumming my pain with her pen, telling my life with her experiences, and enlightening me, softly, with her words.

One of my dearest friends said to me, in a heated discussion: "That is so white of you!" Unfortunately, this is a position too many of us take when having to deal with an opposing point of view. Everything becomes Liberal or Conservative, Democrat or Republican, and black or white. "Bamboozled" reminds us the correct approach should be ... right or wrong.

I beseech those of you with personal agendas, not to disparage this important read without first exploring its contents. The book is well researched, and filled with information sure to astonish many that are not yet brainwashed ... by certain points of view.

Those who ask: "What have Conservative Republicans done for the country, women, and minorities?" will discover a better question is: "What have they not done?"

If you are disgusted with politicians taking your vote for granted and making empty promises (I know, I am) -- you should abandon the ranks of the bamboozled. Buy this marvelous book and join the march to personal responsibility, self-reliance, and independent thought.

This review is from: Bamboozled: How Americans are being Exploited by the Lies of the Liberal Agenda (Hardcover)
Bamboozled made a chill run down my spine as Mrs. McGlowan revealed all of lies and race baiting that really goes on within the liberal agenda. It is VERY detailed in the documentation. For those that read the book it is apparent that she researched long and hard to get the facts straight. The people she has on the record saying some of these things is AMAZING!!!! A MUST READ!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very eye-opening, November 19, 2008
This review is from: Bamboozled: How Americans are being Exploited by the Lies of the Liberal Agenda (Hardcover)
As a young black male, I often feel an outcast for voicing my conservative beliefs. What a relief to find other intelligent blacks in this country who are willing to step up and emphasize personal accountability and responsibility in our society! If nothing else, we as minorities need to look at our traditional values of faith and family and truly ask ourselves how they line up with those 'leaders' on the left....

I wish I could give this book 6 stars. I could write an extended review on this book, but you only have to see some of the other reviews to discover that this book is polarizing. Liberals hate to see the way they really are in print, so our more liberal Amazon friends do not like it.

If you have an open mind....read this book. If you already plan on voting for Hillary or Obama...never mind. You will not change your mind anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars A gem, March 24, 2008
By
NA Miles "VDH" (West Rising Sun, IN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bamboozled: How Americans are being Exploited by the Lies of the Liberal Agenda (Hardcover)
Though it somehow does not have the amount of readers/reviews as many mainstream books, Bamboozled is very well-written, thoroughly-documented and accurate. Therefore, do NOT look for it to be promoted by the state-run media or your local indoctrination university. The left does not like it when a black person, especially an erudite, well-read woman like Angela McGlowan strays from their modern plantation and comes to her own strong conclusions.

Sectionally, the book is also divided up nicely. There are tons of rare but important facts, quotes and examples you seldom hear, to describe how, thanks to the media, liberal politicians, blatantly deceitful "educators," omissions from wikipedia and so on, so-called "minorities" like blacks and Latinos remain ignorant of their history. For the past four and a half decades, they tragically vote for a party 100% hostile to them and their faith/values, while hating the party that has given them EVERYTHING from their freedom and safety in the 19th century to integration, civil rights and personal reliance/responsibility in the 20th and beyond.

There's a reason Booker T. Washington, Frederick Douglass, Sojourner Truth, Martin Luther King, the founders of the NAACP and so many more historically essential blacks were staunch Republicans. They valued freedom, morals/faith and self-reliance over victimology, race-baiting and, in their time, segregation and lynchings.

It's sad but typical. As a Jewish person, I feel the same about ignorant, selfish, myopic "Jews" still voting for the failure that is the Socialist/Statist Democrat party who, on the whole, is anti-Semitic, anti-Israel and fiscally irresponsible.

Like many, when I was young, uneducated and naive, I too was a Democrat. Then I left college, started working, got married, read on my own, stopped going to movies and watching Stewart, Letterman or CNN, and woke up.

As usual, the one star reviewers did not read the book. And those who may have perused do not accept an intelligent black female author leaving the "plantation" these racist, modern slaveholding Democrats created, so they instead bashed Angela, Fox News and so on--- ending with "trust the 90% that vote Democrat." McGlowan counters that bogus claim well, so they'll have to read.

As McGlowan explains early in chapter five, aside from being ignorant of history (just like liberal whites), blacks fear being ostracized for voting Republican, even though it makes the most sense to do so, rather than voting alongside the secularist haters in Hollywood who run the Democrats, stoke racial fears to get votes, and neither care about "minorities, " nor act as they do, other than for votes every two or four years.

That the Democrats have thrived despite their murderous and heinous history, especially toward black people -- from Jackson, Buchanan, Douglas, Johnson, Bedford Forrest, Bull Connor and Preston Brooks to Wilson, FDR, JFK, LBJ, Dean, Kennedy, Byrd, Bond, Waters, Pelosi, Reid, Jackson, Sharpton, Farrakhan, the Clintons, Gore and Obama -- is transparent and truly reprehensible. The GOP should not allow this. Democrat history into today has been unquestionably catastrophic to black success and racial progress. And they benefit from our ignorance.

A mind truly is a terrible thing to waste. Time to properly educate --- with real history, no revisionist, multi-culti balderdash that today's teachers foist, which keeps children dumb and downtrodden, but makes them "feel good" -- our next generation, because the current and prior ones are lost. Who cares that our children don't realize the Democrats' funded the KKK and opposed the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments, as well as any anti-segregation laws Republicans passed all the way into the LATE 60s and the end of LBJ's time?

And lastly, it needs mentioning that "compassion" was in fact often an area of weakness for Pres. Bush. McGlowan notes this because she's fair. But isn't this also one area where the left-wing bigots should give him "credit"? They do not.

Instead they call names and give him labels at their conventions; just as they ignore Clinton doing NOTHING for Africa (or Latinos, other than talk but never back anything up, ala John Kerry) while Bush's AIDS initiatives saved nearly five million African lives. Hypocrisy.

George Bush is the least racist President in mind and soul there has ever been and this is shown in his appointments over and over of "people of color." As Ben Stein once added, "To say otherwise is scandalously untrue."

Wake up, everyone . . . thanks Angela!
