Good size, but cracked,

I had this on my wishlist and got it as a gift for Christmas 2010. I didn't actually start using it until May 2011. Before I used it, I did treat it with a wax.After using it for 4 months, I noticed that the middle of the board starting separating slightly (on both sides). I always washed it with soapy warm water, so not sure what happened? Maybe because it's pieced together? Not sure if the heat from my stove (I always keep my cutting board about 5 inches away from the stove) - caused it to crack or just faulty craftsmanship. Anywho, I contacted the Bambu company and they were really responsive and sent me a replacement after I sent them pictures of the damage. The length/width/thickness of the board is great. I did notice that onions and other strong odors would linger on the board. I'm not sure if I would buy this cutting board again, but it's a decent purchase. |
