Splintered after one use,
This review is from: Bambu 5-Inch Baby's Utensils, Set of 2, Natural (Kitchen)
I would not recommend this product. It splintered after one use, not exactly a safe product for a toddler. In addition, the tines of the fork are far too sharp. It's a shame but I would stay away form this product.

This fork and spoon set used to be just great. 5 stars all the way. Unfortunately the company didn't have the guts to raise the price directly, so instead they've cut costs by making 'em much thinner and much thinner thereby increasing their profits-- 'cuz they charge the same amount! If I'd known I certainly wouldn't have bought 'em.

I try to keep plastic things out of my baby's mouth as much as possible, and was ready to use stainless steel spoons (without the plastic coating), until I came across these!! They are great - well the spoon is anyway! As other reviewers have said, the fork doesn't poke anything, and I completely disagree with anyone that says that the fork is sharp. I like that it came as a set of two - I was always sure to have a clean spoon!
Because these are wood, they do take a little bit of maintenance and do require being oiled every so often (with everyday use, I oiled mine about twice a month), but they're great!!.

safe, maybe too safe and hard to clean,

I disagree with any of the reviewers that felt the fork was too sharp. Our 13 month old is fairly skilled in stabbing food on her tray with a fork and getting it to her mouth. I bought this set when the stainless, plastic & rubber utensils started to degrade after years of use by our now 4 year old. I figured bamboo was ecologically responsible and simultaneously health safe for our kids. Unfortunately, as attractive as these are, the fork is pretty much useless. Even my husband and I have to use considerable force to stab a piece of food. And when you can manage to get food with the fork, it's very difficult to clean in between the tines. I'm looking for a better alternative. (And the kids' set isn't any sharper.)

These products are fabulous! We got a set of two forks and spoons and used them over the course of our two little ones early eating months. Now they've graduated to metal, but for the first year of feeding, these are wonderful! They did splinter after a couple of years, and then we tossed them into the compost.

The spoon of this set is perfect for little ones- not too much volume in the payload area, and a good shape. I haven't tried the fork, but it seems like it would be able to spear or pierce soft foods (cooked veggies like potato, pumpkin, etc) but I don't know about harder foods like a veggie with a membrane or meat. The handles are curved and seem to be a good shape for little hands, and don't seem flimsy. They are meant to be handwashed, so those who say they splinter may be treating them roughly- mine are ok after months.

When I first got these, I thought the fork would be worthless...a wooden fork? It's too thick right? Well, the wood/bamboo actually gripped the food better than a traditional fork. Great for a new eater! The spook is a great size, holds a little more than the typical baby spoon. These are easy to hold and have a great shape. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking to use products made of natural materials
