We couldn't actually get a banana to stay in this thing. In fact, I think we caused more bruising to the bananas trying to get them in the bunker then we would have by just tossing it in the lunch bag. The first bananas we got were too big and the bunker wouldn't even go around them. The next bunch I got was smaller but they didn't match the shape of the bunker well enough for it to close properly, especially considering that you have to put the bottom on a little sideways and then twist it to get it to lock. We finally got it closed around the tiniest and straightest banana, but then wimpy locking feature kept popping open with the slightest bump. Oh well. It was fun to say 'banana bunker' over and over and act all stealth as we packed lunch. There are good bunkers out there that have a hinge and snap closed, try to find one of those.

Great product, looks terrible. As long as you don't care what people think of you when you pull this thing out- get it!

The banana bunker is great! Bananas are always safe in this thing, especially when you carry one around for lunch in your bag all day. A little limited because of the hard plastic as to what bananas will fit in it comfortably, but generally a good design. Good as a gift idea filler, but might want to compliment it with a countertop banana hangar as well.
