5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it's supposed to do
Yes, it keeps your banana from getting bruised/smushed.
And yes, it's also a bit embarrassing to have around.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cute concept that doesn't work.
This works well if you can find bananas to fit. Unfortunately the manufacturer forgot to tell the banana producers. If your banana is the wrong size or doesn't have the proper curvature then the ribs cause bruising of their own, an effect precisely opposed to the one that the Banana Bunker is supposed to have.

The Banana Bunker is a cute idea but poorly...

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally!, December 2, 2010

If you're anything like me your instant reaction when you saw this product was "Color-coded banana holders. FINALLY!"

Banana holders typically come in a single color which is, coincidentally, yellow. This limitation makes it a hassle to ration one's banana consumption throughout the week. As I'm sure we all do.

Enter the creative minds at Compact Impact. If these people love or know anything, it's bananas. And the only thing they know better than bananas is how much *you* love bananas. And the only thing they love more than that is a decent game of foosball. But really, they love bananas.

So bring together in one room the brightest minds in the banana industry and what do you get? Color-coded banana chambers with patented length-adjusting folds.

You're welcome.

Look, I'm not one to raise false hopes, that's not what I'm about. But as far as I can tell this is the real thing. So get 'em while they're hot, folks. They won't be around for long.

The Banana Bunker is a cute idea but poorly implemented. The concertina portion of the device is not flexible enough and tends to straighten. In the process it can bruise or break the banana it is supposed to protect.

In my experience, a piece of bubble wrap held in place by a rubber band is cheaper and more effective.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!, August 13, 2009

Since I got one of these I haven't had to worry about my bananas getting bruised. I often have to back my lunch in a backpack (I bike to work), so I've got a tupperware for my sandwich and one of these for my banana, I just buy chips from the vending machine and I'm set! Plus, the ribs are really nice feature ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars WHY BANANA BUNKER?, December 28, 2011
This review is from: Banana Bunker (Color: Clear) Set of 2 (Health and Beauty)
hi peoples! in case you haven't noticed, bananas are funny, loyal, independent friends to us. I know that because i am the banana queen and i love bananas, and anything that is made to protect them is wonderful. the only problem with this splendid technology is that some people have got the intention that they are supposed to be EATEN and not SAVED like they are supposed to. what if bananas ate people? that wouldn't be very nice... you probably would not like that. But we all know that bananas are not half as terrible as the banana haters out there, and they would never do that, so don't worry! but always keep in mind that the bananas all have terrible destinies because of us, and so, ya. don't eat bananas. and buy the banana bunker so that we can save them! not eat them! THANK YOU!

Looks weird, but works great. No squishy bananas banging around in the backpack. Good eats at lunch or even later.
