5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book About Safety, July 10, 2007
This review is from: Watch Out for Banana Peels and Other Sesame Street Safety Tips (Pictureback(R)) (Paperback)
If you've watched Sesame Street, then you're no doubt familiar with the hilarious furry blue monster named Grover. In this book, Officer Grover and Deputy Elmo teach kids about safety using safety tips. Some are hilarious, like Safety Tip #1: "Be careful turning the pages of a book so you don't get a paper cut", but most are real-life safety issues that kids need to know about.

If you're a homeschooler like me, your state may require you to teach your children about personal safety, so this is a great book for that class. Even if your kids are in public school, Watch Out for Banana Peels provides important information for staying safe.

This book covers wearing safety gear while riding bikes or skating, as well as never pet a strange dog, be careful when you cross the street, clean up toys, buckling up in the car and much more. There are very funny sight gags and asides (such as "Never meatloaf sandwich near a pack of wolves"), but each are in conjunction with common sense tips for personal safety.

Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for teaching and remembering safety tips!, November 19, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Watch Out for Banana Peels and Other Sesame Street Safety Tips (Pictureback(R)) (Paperback)
I bought this for my four year old daughter and this is one of her favorites that she wants to always read....it's great because it includes her favorite characters from Sesame Street in a fun format and the safety tips have really sunk in as I've heard her repeating the safety tips here and there (like in the car while driving and she sees a stray dog). It's good because she remembers it because of the funny pictures that she always gets a good laugh from. It's very good for teaching safety tips!
