5.0 out of 5 stars far and away the best bandage.
These bandages stick much better than traditional bandages when you follow the directions: you have to warm up these bandages to ~ body temperature before peeling off the film and applying. Put them between your hands or in your (clean) armpit or against a hot cup of coffee to warm up the bandage. After you do that they practically melt onto your skin and will stick tight...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best for water, great for everyday use.
This would be a great bandage if they could figure out how to get them to stick on during the day through numerous hand washings. I can use these at night since I'm not using my hands all night but during the day, well, they just fall off very, very quickly after one washing usually. They're really nice for a particularly bad cut or even for a little one's hands, but the...

These bandages stick much better than traditional bandages when you follow the directions: you have to warm up these bandages to ~ body temperature before peeling off the film and applying. Put them between your hands or in your (clean) armpit or against a hot cup of coffee to warm up the bandage. After you do that they practically melt onto your skin and will stick tight for many days. They work best if the wound has stopped bleeding. If it bleeds significantly under this bandage you should remove after the bleeding has stopped, clean off the blood, and reapply a new bandage. Normal moisture in the wound will be trapped and somewhat absorbed by the bandage and form a kind of blister in the bandage. That is normal. Do not apply big globs of antibiotic lotion under the bandage. Just wash the wound, apply a small amount of antibiotic if necessary, wipe off any excess and apply the bandage to clean dry skin. You can easily trim the bandages to fit any size wound. (1/4 to 1/2 inch around the wound is generally all you need.) The wound will also heal much quicker under this bandage than under other bandages that allow air to get to the wound. It is a myth that wounds need to "air out". If the wound forms its own crusty bloody scab it will crack, you will pick at it, and it will be more likely to bleed and scar. These bandages form their own more flexible scab that keeps the moisture in the area and will cause the wound to heal faster with less scarring.

5.0 out of 5 stars These adhesives are excellent!, March 3, 2005

I recently went sailing with an "assisted knife" in my back pocket, I forgot about it when I jumped in my sleeping bag. In the morning I could feel something "poking me" and I reached in and really sliced my finger. I only had regular bandaids on board and after two days at sea nothing would stick and the finger was still bleeding. I was able to get to shore and buy the advanced finger care set. What a remarkable product. Not only did it stop the bleeding but I could continue to haul anchor lines and sail sheets without pain. The coverings appear to cushion the wound and I could still see through the substance to check the wound for redness or swelling. I plan to buy every size available and keep them on the boat. It is important that one cleanse the area with an antiseptic, which I would imagine most folks would want to do, this allows for clean skin and the stuff will not come off! I tested this product in extreme conditions! I have even had to trim closer and closer to the wound as this stuff stays put. I will go this way over sutures or steri-strips any day. The best part is the throbbing stopped. I notice that the wound just fills in by granulating from below. I give this product 5 stars and I want to find a way to buy it in bulk! Salt, sea air and cuts are a horrible inconvenience. Imagine how nice this stuff would be around the house!

Accidentally cut my finger on a piece of broken glass, quite deep and did not want to get stitches, etc. This product turns out to be better than stitches. It seals it, medicates it and stays on for as long as you want. The healing is really fast, too. Will be keeping a box of these around at all times from now on. It a total first aid kit in one little Band-Aid.

They're really nice for a particularly bad cut or even for a little one's hands, but the adhesive really needs to be stronger. You can ruin the adhesive quite easily on this bandage simply during the opening process. I'm not sure that I would really recommend them.
