This is an old timey first aid product that REALLY works, if you know how and so long as the cut is only skin deep, not into the muscle. We have used it for years. The individual bandages are a bit hard to unwrap, but when applied correctly to a fresh wound (apply one sticky side on uninjured skin at 90 degree angle to cut, then gently pull edges of cut together with...

There are few times as trying as when you need to perform first-aid on a child with a puncture wound. Extreme stress. At times like that you need a bandage that is easy to open and sticks like glue. It should, of all products, be a technical wonder! Johnson and Johnson Band-Aid products (all of them, but especially Butterfly strips)do not stick and they are very difficult...

This is an old timey first aid product that REALLY works, if you know how and so long as the cut is only skin deep, not into the muscle. We have used it for years. The individual bandages are a bit hard to unwrap, but when applied correctly to a fresh wound (apply one sticky side on uninjured skin at 90 degree angle to cut, then gently pull edges of cut together with loose end of butterfly and place other sticky side down on other side of cut - there is no "sticky" on the bridge part of bandage) along with an all purpose topical antibiotic, these bandages can save expensive trips to the emergency room for stitches. One of our family is particularly accident prone, and I have used the butterflys at least a couple dozen times to close wounds which would have otherwise required many, many stitches, often times having to use multiple butterflys on the same cut. You have to leave the initial butterfly bandage/s on for 3 - 4 days, protecting from water. Then remove, gently clean wound, and apply new antibiotic and butterfly/s for another 3 - 4 days. Wound should then be closed and require only a regular bandaid - altho, with some cuts and some people, may have to repeat redo of butterflys. Wound area always has to be kept clean. And, ALWAYS be vigilant about infection/s and/or failure of wound to close. If either of these is present, a visit to doctor is probably required.

It should, of all products, be a technical wonder! Johnson and Johnson Band-Aid products (all of them, but especially Butterfly strips)do not stick and they are very difficult to open in a panicky situation. STAY AWAY. It seems like every month J&J comes out with some gimmicky bandage, with Neosporin, flex-o, bend-o, waterproof- you name it. Instead, how about making a product that works? I truly can not believe how bad their Band-Aid products are. Get some good medical tape and some gauze. Every time I have had an emergency J&J has made it 100 times worse and more stressful. Bad. DO NOT BUY.
