real rock from real rockers, April 26, 2005
This review is from: Band From World War Zero (Audio CD)
I was lucky enough to obtain an import copy of Band From World War Zero (it's been out in the uk for about a year already), and the only advice I can give you is this...Buy it! If you want some no-nonsense rock'n'roll these guys are the real deal. Check out the L.A. glam of "Spiders", the relentless assault of "Make Up Your Mind", and the swaggering grooves of "Destitute Prostitutes".... The only thing better than listening to the album is seeing these dynamic rockers live.... Get it now!

C'mon people: this is great!, May 28, 2005
This review is from: Band From World War Zero (Audio CD)
This is a cool new band from Los Angeles. I saw them recently and I was impressed. I caught them again in NYC and what I saw was true. This is a band on a mission. They are inspired. They are coming from the real punk and glam rock traditions. They seem sometimes like the Stooges and sometimes like The Sweet. It's an American band. The demon speed of a song like "Make Up Your Mind" is amazing. Frontman Ben Tegel is an electrifying performer. Their signature song is "Destitute Prostitute." It conveys all the grime and experience of trying to live in Los Angeles. A more positive song "Hollywood Forever" does mainly the same thing: explores the dreams everyone has. The Vacation are capable of combining hard rock with melodic tunes. There is a little 1980s hair metal vibe on this album. They have guitar riffs and solos. The Vacation have everything you want in a band. They are getting popular in Europe already. They will be taking over in America too, because they are ten times better than Jet.

I'm SUPERWACK... this record is not! STOP READING AND BUY!!, April 26, 2005

"WORLD WAR ZERO" is the war George W. wishes he could start but THE VACATION didn't need to use lies or deception to get this full out assault of rock n' roll underway!
I've seen the face of Jesus in a tortilla on the TV news, but I know the real salvation will come from these guys (after all, they were almost Pope)
Ben (on Vocals) tears it up like one of those toothpicks they give you at the hot sauce factory... Steve (guitar) is one half Ray Davies, one half andre3000 and one half cyborg love machine from the future... and Dutch (bass)? C'mon, he's the man.
"Spiders" is one of the most vicious songs I've heard... if you've broken a heart you'll understand. Play "Trash" in the car and you'll get a speeding ticket (Why I haven't yet is a mystery)...
Buy one copy for yourself and one for someone who hates you and they'll hate you no more.
