Just One of the Ten Great Figures in this Line!,
This review is from: Ben 10 Metamorfigures - Heatblast (Toy)
Bandai is certainly no stranger when it comes to transforming toys. Going back to the early 1980's with their Machine Robo line (better known as Go-bots in the U.S.), Bandai has been on the cutting edge when it comes to producing outstanding transforming toys. The latest line of transforming, or more accurately, metamorphing toys, is based on the hit Cartoon Network animated series, Ben 10.The show is about Ben Tennyson, his grandfather Max, and his cousin Gwen. An alien pod crashes to Earth and when Ben examines it, he finds a mysterious, watch-like device, called the Omnitrix. The device gives him the ability to transform into 10 different alien heroes, each with their own fantastic powers and abilities. Ben's archenemy on the show is the vicious Vilgax who wants the Omnitrix for his own. One of the characters that Ben can morph into is Heatblast. Heatblast has the power to control and blast flame, fly, create a smokescreen, as well as several other powers. The figure stands approximately 8" tall and is articulated at the neck, shoulders, biceps, elbows, hips, thighs, knees (actually double articulated at the knees) and ankles. Heatblast's morphing mode consists of turning back his head, and folding his arms and legs behind him on his back into a compact, cylinder-like shape. Press the button on his back and a red light glows brightly from underneath his head, essentially turning him into a flashlight. This is a pretty easy process that even younger kids can do with perhaps a bit of help the first time or two. The many points of articulation make the figure very poseable and it stands up quite well on his own. The only problem may be that it is a little bit top heavy due to the very large forearms and hands and the thin legs. You do have to compensate a bit to make him stand in certain positions. The packaging is nicely done, coming in a very attractive box with large display window and featuring the graphics of several other characters from the line. With outstanding figures like Heatblast, the Ben 10 toys are sure to be as big a hit as the TV show. Reviewed By Tim Janson

Another character that the little boy from Ben-10 can change into, this larger action figure is very nice indeed. It converts into a flashlight which, again, allows for more play time (my kids wished that it did that and glowed int the dark as well but that's wishful thinking). It's sturdy and well made. I'd suggest also picking up more than one if you have more than one kid because they'll end up fighting over it otherwise.

My son requested this last Christmas and he recieved it. It's been more than half a year already. He still plays with it. It still works. And all it's pieces are still intact. Can't give it much better than that. Not many action figure toys hold out this long. No regrets on this purchase.
