From the Manufacturer

The most powerful form of Zero has arrived. A Web Excusive in Japan, D-Arts Black Armor Zero will be made available to North American retailers as a regular release First appearing in Megaman X4 as an upgrade available only with the use of a secret code, Zero's black armor quickly became a staple of the X series, allowing for an increase in attack speed, strength and mobility. Keeping this in mind, Tamashii Nations has specifically recreated Black Zero as originally appeared in the game, so fans can pose him alongside Ultimate Armor Megaman X. And with three different styles of his signature Z-Saber (now in purple to reflect his added strength) three sets of hands and three interchangeable faces, Zero comes with all he needs to take down Repliforce, or any other Reploid foolish enough to go Maverick. Maverick Hunter Zero, go.

Awesome figure I highly recommend this figure to any Megaman x fan out there.
Darrin S.
I did, however, find it frustrating to change the hands, arms, and buster at first, then I realized that this figure is meant to come apart in a multitude of ways.
ObiJuan
From the box, the detail looks AMAZING, and it looks like it would be a very well made figure.

I decided to do a review that's different from others. I'll start with what I didn't like:

Cons:
-The Curse of the Loose Body Parts strikes again!! *ahem* So, this is the first time I have ever owned a well made action figure and after reading some of the reviews on here I was a bit nervous that I might accidentally break Zero. When I opened the plastic case holding him, his left fist fell off. I actually chuckled because I expected something like that to happen. After a while, I managed to get his fist back on properly. Then I was moving his left foot a little and it popped out of its socket but, thankfully, I had watched a review of this item on Youtube so I knew how to put it back in (but it was still mildly irritating having it come out so easily). The biggest frustration, though, was his waist. I was trying as gently as possible to move it, when the single socket ball that holds his waist and hips together came apart! I never expected that to happen. I did manged to get the ball back in the socket, but moving his waist around a few more times caused the same problem. I thought I had done what I was afraid to do, that I had broken him, and would have to do something desperate (like super glue him) to fix the problem. But after leaving a question on here and getting a helpful answer, I decided not to do that. Zero is fine as long as I don't move his waist, but that means I won't be able to do much posing with him (which is why I'm giving this a rating, sadly, of four stars).
-It's a bit tough to move his different parts. For example, I had some trouble moving his head. And after the stuff mentioned above, I feel really nervous about doing anything with him. I haven't even tried out his different hands yet, because I don't want to scratch them.

Right from the start, it's the EXACT same model as the Zero version 2 from the same line. The only changes are (obviously) a completely redone paint job, and a bonus face. The black paint job is AMAZING. The small glittery paints really pop with some good lighting, and the hair, hands, and sword have all received a brand new treatment, courtesy of the amazing artists at Bandai Tamashii. This figure comes with an INSANE amount of accessories!! It features a total of 4 faces, 6 different hands, a different arm with which you can swap for the buster cannon, and three versions of the sword. One is rather pointy at the end, and Bandai, realizing this, put a warning label on the front of the box! Another thing that should be mentioned with these figures is that they are NOT for playing with, unless you want to own a broken figure. When swapping out the faces, be very careful when attempting to do so. My suggestion would be to remove the head completely. The joint at the neck is a ball joint, and will come off and snap on easily. From there, you should be able to swap out the face with minimal effort. As another review mentioned, the figures do come with a very thin precoating of what I believe to be silicone. This is to ensure that the figures different parts and joints move well, and dont have a problem coming off if necessary. The stuff will come off on your hands, but it'll also ensure that your figure functions properly, and stays that way for years to come.

My situation was that the Zero version 2 model now commands ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS prices on amazon, because of the limited number of figures that were made. I can only assume that this figure will eventually work the same way, so may I suggest getting one while they are still under $40?!

Black Zero. What a beast. I was looking to get more D-arts Figures, and I wanted to get Zero V2, however I found out that V2 has had its prices raised through the ROOF (about 200 as of this writing), so I was out of luck, but found this. And that's why I got it, plus Black is a cool color. So about the figure, as everyones already pointed out, it's just a repainted Zero V2. It's the same figure just in the color scheme of Zero's ultimate armor. NOT, I repeat, NOT the "Fake Zero" from X2 (as Fake zero from X2 had a red jewel on his forehead as opposed to the blue one on here). It comes with the same sword accessories, where it differs is where it gets weird.

As you know, all the D-Arts figures (minus Vile because well, he doesn't have a face!) come with alternate faces. With this one, theres a feminine face. This is a reference to his bishonen appearance in the Rockman X Manga adaption. They even have "Comic Version" figures of X and Zero that are your standard X1 Normal Armor X and Zero (I think) V2 but they have the bisho faces only and not the "Inafune" style drawing on our figures. Why did they throw this one in? Who knows. That's only a minor gripe that has no affect on my score, I wish it had come with a better face for the last one.

Still, the figure itself looks BEAUTIFUL as you'd expect out of these figures. It's sleek, smooth, and just perfectly well put together. All the details are great, the Z on Zero's shoulder looks so cool, and he just reeks of awesome. Posing again, he has so many things he can do, but like with all the figures, there are some things you'll need to get used to. Like his hair can be a problem, and the age old problem of getting him to stand up straight, possibly due to how the hair is done.
