Product Description

Thirty-five years after the original Alien motion picture, Tamashii Nations is proud to announce its next ambitious S.H.MonsterArts project with the S.H.MonsterArts Big Chap action figure. Developed from the ground up to replicate poses from the Alien film the overall style dictated by the long arms and legs of the actor inside the suit, and the finely detailed sculpting of the suit itself as designed by Geiger, are replicated in the product in exquisite detail. Big Chap's distinctive translucent head carapace is rendered with a separately-molded semi-translucent part, allowing the precision-sculpted skull beneath to show through. The bone-like tail is built from 18 individually jointed segments for enhanced detail and the tip employs die-cast metal for enhanced weight and realism. Figure set also features interchangeable hand parts and special display stand.

Amazing Alien figure, very nice quality.
Nydia M. Colon-Vega
The shape of the dome is off, the color is off and the front of the skull looks like this Alien was born from some huge eyed anime character.

You want a bette version of the original Alien, get the Neca, The picture up there is nothing compare to the real figure.

This Alien figure is very well done and is very articulated. It's the only Alien figure I have so I cant compare it to others but I love it. The only problem is that it's head is not a black translucent color like in the pictures. Which is what I wanted. It's very clear towards the front. You can see the skull perfectly. Maybe that was done on purpose? You can take the clear dome piece off though and make it darker. I plan on doing that. Also, the figure is about 6.5" tall from head to toe. The base and holder are great. The two replacement hands are also nice. The tail is very flexible and can hold certain poses but falls for most others. All in all, I think this is a great figure and worth the money. I gave it four stars for the misleading pics of the dome. I would buy more though.

Dome is almost 100% clear, don't be fooled by the product photos. This figure is also completely out of scale with the other figures in the SH MonsterArts AvP line and stands a full head shorter than the Warrior Alien and Wolf Predator. Various details are also poorly done despite Tamashii hyping this figure to the max by saying it'd be incredibly and painstakingly accurate.

The figure is also almost entirely devoid of worthwhile accessories. They give you an extra pair of virtually pointless hands and a stand. The LARGER AvP Warrior came with 3 sets of hands, a stand, an egg and a chest burster. Didn't the Big Chap Alien deserve the same treatment? I guess not.

An OK sculpt, a poor paint scheme, and then there's the size. It's little more than the size of any modern day action figure. 7" ...tops! They put so many points of articulation into it, it cannot stand on its own in any pose. That must be why there's a stand/holder with it just to keep it upright. And as one buyer pointed out, the skull is completely transparent...like glass. Now, if you're digging the original concept look of the human skull ALIEN as seen in some on-set photos...this is great. But it certainly isn't going to look like any other Xeno's in your collection. Bottom line...way too pricey for something so small and un-posable and then add the strange skull design which is nothing like these pictures of it here, and it's just not worth having.

This is a stunningly beautiful piece. But it is quite delicate. The tail does not have the balance it needs to stay up in the positions you would want to pose it in. I also wish it was a little larger. It's not at a scale which makes it look right compared with other 1/12 scale figures. 2 more inches would have made a a world of difference.

I'm glad I got one, but I'm also glad I still have all of my NECA versions of the Alien xenomorphs.

These figures are perfect for your desk or for small spaces in your shelf.

Pros: Great sculpt.
Great Articulation.
Secondary tongue/jaw function.

Cons: The articulation on the abdominal area may be a little loose and hard to control for some poses.
The tail is articulated but you can't pose it much. Its either straight or curled between the legs.

Important: Many people were disappointed when the actual product was released because the head is transparent, revealing the interior skull. The prototype shows a darker head. I personally like the transparent head that reveals the skull. also on mine, depending on the angle, the head turns dark or transparent in some areas.

Overall its a great figure. If you are collecting the entire Alien / Predator line from SH Monsterarts this is a great addition. The loose articulation can limit the poses you can get out of the figure but when you look at it this design works better with the leaning forward pose shown in the product picture or just standing straight. The SH Monsterarts Warrior Alien has a more action pose design.

I'm a stickler for authenticity and Bandai releases some good quality figures, but this Alien is comical at best. Compared to the Alien 35th Anniversary 2nd Gen Alien, this figure is just hands down ugly. The teeth are wrong and resemble the never-released Kenner figure's distorted mouth (See Funko's release of the original Kenner sculpt that now in stores). The shape of the dome is off, the color is off and the front of the skull looks like this Alien was born from some huge eyed anime character. It's definitely not worth $25. I simply wouldn't buy it because of the head being just totally wrong. Maybe you can kit bash it with something better.

NECA's 35th Anniversary Alien sculpt is way better than this.

Just started gettin Monsterarts and Ultra act figures. Big fan of the original film so when I saw this on Amazon I had to get it. It is not 100% accurate, but most people won't spot the very minor things that aren't right. I love the crazy amount of articulation. I pose it like in the landing room scene where it kills Brett. The only flaws to me are the kinda lame lack of a decent means to move the tounge(gotta holdthe mouth open and tap the head till it flops out of the mouth) and the last section of the tail will fall of if I look at it. But it is so great overall I can live with it.
