4.0 out of 5 stars Good music, but incomplete album
I loved the movie, and thoroughly enjoyed all the music mentioned and played. I especially liked the inclusion of the Dylan song and "Twist in My Sobriety."

However, I am not sure why the U2 song was not included, as it's played twice in the movie, and is especially significant as the closing song. The only reason I can think of is that the group did not agree...

3.0 out of 5 stars But were is MSI!?????
Yes, this album is very very incomplete. Aside from the great U2 not being there, where the heck is Mindless self indulgence(my favorite band )??? They were played for like a minute and a half when Bruce willis and that other guy walk in on that young guy and that girl making out. It was a song called kill the rock and its great. So i don't know why they didn't put it...

However, I am not sure why the U2 song was not included, as it's played twice in the movie, and is especially significant as the closing song. The only reason I can think of is that the group did not agree to having it on the soundtrack. If that is true, shame on U2 for marring a great set of music! If it was the producers of the album, shame on them for depriving us.

5.0 out of 5 stars A film where the music makes sense, August 1, 2002

There are many little things that would probably go unnoticed in this movie, were it not for soundtrack. I'm thinking of the scene in which Cate Blanchett loses herself in that meal preparation, only to have her almost unbelievably insensitive husband show up to inform her that he won't be eating any of it. It's the music and the life it creates for her that shows the dichotomy of her world; and so, when she inadvertently escapes, we believe it. Are Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, and Blanchett superb? Yes. But it's the music that underscores the acting and directing brilliance.

Why do soundtracks always seem to be missing one big song or another? In this case, they left out the awesome U2 song "Beautiful Day" and possibly others that I'm not recalling right now. This makes listening to the soundtrack like seeing the Three Stooges without Moe. Maybe people would be less critical if they haven't already seen the movie.

I loved this movie, not only because the story was great, but the music was great as well! It fit in well which each scene in the movie. If you love the movie, you'll love the soundtrack!

5.0 out of 5 stars movie and cd rocks, October 14, 2001

Both the movie and its soundtrack are really excellent! This mellow/eclectic soundtrack plays almost seamlessly (surprisingly so when you look at all the artists), and has some great songs. Its not a party CD, but it is great to do work to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cool Music, October 11, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Bandits (Audio CD)
I just saw this movie last night at a pre-screening and the soundtrack is great. Some oldies and some music that is just quite new and different. If you see the movie, pay attention to the music during the love scenes and during the "switches" between scenes. The movie was good, but the music is what I remember even more.

With the exception of Wildfire, which I never liked, it is an incredible CD. Part of the charm of the movie was the incredible sound track and it's just as enjoyable on CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars a must have!, May 13, 2008
This review is from: Bandits (Audio CD)
This is a AWESOME soundtrack. I love the movie and everytime I watch it I see more depth. It is sneaky funny in some parts and just hilarious in others. The movie would not be as good however, without this amazing compilation of songs. They fit the changing moods perfectly. I listen to it the car and at home. The movie introduced me to a couple songs I hadn't heard and reminded me of some I had forgotten. You can enjoy it over and over.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the buy & listen, January 19, 2007
This review is from: Bandits (Audio CD)
Great soundtrack with a very good selection of mixed artists and differing styles of music from Tanita Tikarim to Bob Dylan. The soundtrack is great on it's own, but is even better if you have seen the movie. The U2 song in the movie, probably should have been included as well, but you never know why it wasn't. It is still worth the listen though!
