This is a great product and works for my very active Jack Russel Terrier. The plastic is thick and not flimsy. The adhesive stickers provided in the package 'may' remove the finish on your door and I didn't want that. I would recommend using the 3M removable adhesive stickers for posters (available at any hardware store). I did and it was a good idea since I had to reposition the adhesive stickers once.

I bought these scratch guards to protect our newly painted doors from our Golden. They work great but the Velcro fastening system is inadequate to hold them in place as they are quite heavy.

I drilled a small hole at the top rounded corner of each unit and then used a single suction cup style hook to keep them in place and this works much better than the Velcro. Now we can easily remove them by popping the suction hooks off to clean the door glass and when company comes, as they are not that attractive, yet very functional.

Not a scratch on our doors since installation and with the hooks I'm not having to replace the Velcro every few days (the adhesive doesn't stick that well and thus didn't work).

Unfortunately the velcro strips are stronger than the glue that holds them onto the door. So our dog, a 15 pound bichon tore the protector with its velcro right off the door. The idea is good but didn't stand up to an actual dog and a little on at that.

Very easy to install and dogs have not scratched at the door since putting the protector in place. I recommend this product. I have a patio door so it does cover some of the glass. However, it does not look unsightly or anything.

It does the job but I'm not sure if it's worth the money. The material is a thick plastic and arrives rolled in a tube. Purchasing a larger piece of Plexiglas and cutting it to a desired size may have been better and perhaps more economical.

This product is very durable; however, it was so heavy, the adhesives provided with it were not adequate to hold the protector in place on the metal door. I had to use additional adhesives to keep it stationery.

I have a small chihuahua who is very smart and does not like to be shut into a room different from where the rest of us are in the house. sometimes he had to be closed in and he used to scratch paint and wood off the doors to dig a hole through them. I first bought flimsy plastic covers which he scratched through. I also got covers for his paws but he was able to get those little rubber balloon things off his feet too. So I got these for the doors. As another said, the Velcro did not hold up to the dog attempts to get out and soon he had pulled the plastic away and back at the door. Finally I purchased some grommets and screws from the hardware store and used them to hold the plastic to the door. even though this does make a tiny hole wherever the screws are, they are small and will patch much better than trying to fix splintered and clawed wood and repainting. It certainly would not work when traveling and better Velcro strength system might be needed for travel or some other method but for home use, this does work quite well.

Persisent dogs can easily scratch behind the cover even if you use the velcro fasteners -- she just scratched them off (and they took paint off the door). It could work for some dogs, but its no guarantee.
