5.0 out of 5 stars The 7th Joker Card? Music like this is why I started listening to ICP
I came in around the Milenko era and lost my mind when I heard that CD for the first time. I've listened to everything ICP has ever put out, all the way back to Bassment Cuts and including the EPs and side projects (Psychopathic Rydas, Soopa Villainz, Dark Lotus, etc.). The last album I really liked was The Wraith/Shangri-La, and I thought most of The Tempest was pretty...

3.0 out of 5 stars I miss the old days
The Clowns are back and it good album. Its not great... Its good... A few great songs and some really poor songs. In your face, The Bone, To catch a predator, are solid songs. Some songs that just didn't do for me were Juaggalo island, I found a body, and love. Themes that have been done before. Juggalo Island was just something from left field that just didnt fit...

5.0 out of 5 stars The 7th Joker Card? Music like this is why I started listening to ICP, September 1, 2009
This review is from: Bang! Pow! Boom! (Audio CD)
The last album I really liked was The Wraith/Shangri-La, and I thought most of The Tempest was pretty good, too. Maybe because it had a hint of that Dark Carnival old school feel. With the first listen, Bang! Pow! Boom! took me back to the days I discovered ICP and reminded me how I became a juggalo. Everything I love about the wicked clowns is on this disc: bouncy circus calliope beats, thumping bass, fast-paced raps (no drawn out, raspy Violent J ballads), scratching, Shaggy's screaming and character vocal change ups, impersonations of white trash rednecks and naive teenage girls, mini-skits between songs, corpses as girlfriends & homies and the theme of a judgement day recurring throughout the album. I was cruising around tonight and feeling like I did ten years ago. Like my car was a circus wagon rolling from town to town. After huge disappointments like Hell's Pit, Forgotten Freshness 4 and The Calm, this is exactly what I was hoping to hear. Some say it's not dark enough, but I think the group tried too hard to make Hell's Pit extra sinister and it sounded forced and awkward. I was bored with it right from the start. Others say that the tracks on this release are rehashed concepts the duo has done before, but it's not fair to say you want the old ICP and then criticize the music for sounding too familiar. Definitely worth the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars ICP Needs Mike E. Clark, September 5, 2009
This review is from: Bang! Pow! Boom! (Audio CD)
ATTENTION JUGGALOS: ICP is finally back. I haven't liked a record of theirs THIS much since Milenko. It sounds old AND new which is a perfect blend. It even has that high-pitched talking carnival guy from Terror Wheel (this whole album kind of reminds me of Terror Wheel and Beverly Kills)! Skits, commercials and, most importantly some of the best (and awesomely creepy) ICP songs I've heard. And I'm an oldschool ICP fan. I expected Shangri-La/Hell's Pit to rock and was devastated and haven't listened to ICP since. The "Joker's Card" album cover of Bang! Pow! Boom! caught my eye and I decided to give it a try. I did not expect this album to be AMAZING and was, as a result, blown away.

WHAT I'VE LEARNED: This album should've been the 6th and "final" Joker's Card. The Wraith was a joke, and not in a good way. Bottom line, ICP SUCKS without Mike E. Clark. He makes the perfect music to go along with the whole ICP concept and nothing makes Shaggy and J's rhymes sound better. Mike, like J and Shaggy, is truly irreplaceable.

P.S. There are 3 versions of this album. 3 different color album covers. There are some slight differences with each version that you can read about on insaneclownposse dot com. I am reviewing the blue one with the song "Beautiful Doom." I haven't heard the others but personally I think the flow of the album is perfect the way I heard it. I can't imagine changing anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Return to form, September 4, 2009

This cd is everything I was hoping for in an ICP cd. The best thing theyve put out since Jeckel Brothers. Mike E Clark's beats are awesome and they go with the vocals perfectly. You can tell they put everything they had into this cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Since The Great Milenko, September 2, 2009
By
This review is from: Bang! Pow! Boom! (Audio CD)
Some might feel that The Amazing Jeckyl Brothers & The Wraith are better than this. I understand those arguments but my opinion is the songs on Bang Pow Boom are the most creative work ICP has done in a long time. I got the Green album & then bought the other 2 track #2's. I like "The Clowns Are Back" the best. "Freaky Creep Show" is tied with "The Bone" as the worst song on this album. The track on the blue album "Beautiful Doom" is decent and worth listening to but not at the same level as the rest of the cd. I like 2 live crew a lot but I'm wondering how the other 2 secret tracks sound. Bottom Line: I'm close to 30 years old & if this album sucked I don't think I would be following ICP anymore. ICP is definitely back & I'm definitely going to be a Juggalo for life if they keep on putting out albums like this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome back to the Dark Carnival, September 2, 2009
This review is from: Bang! Pow! Boom! (Audio CD)
I am completely blown away by how this album came out. It's well put together, there are some fantastic beats and some great lyrics. I've been a fan for a long time (since I was 14) and now at almost 30 I'm still down with the clown. After The Tempest I was starting to fall away from them but when I found out this was dropping decided to give it one more go and I'm hooked again. I can't wait to see all the juggalos at the live shows doing the Chop Chop Slide (the hidden track on the green album) and it's going to be an amazing tour! If you're an ICP fan or not this is still a great album and has something for a lot of people.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Dark Carnival is back, September 4, 2009
This review is from: Bang! Pow! Boom! (Audio CD)
ICP is back with the fresh sounds that old school juggalos know and love from the first 5 joker's cards. Getting back together with Mike E. Clark was the smartest move ICP could make. His vision of the Dark Carnival is dead on. Listening to this album was nearly like when I discovered The Great Milenko. Nearly, but not quite. Mikenko is just legendary and magical.
Production quality on this album is high and it feels like ICP was actually inspired instead of just throwing stuff out there like some other albums in the past years. As an aside, I picked up the Green version with the "Chop Chop Slide" bonus track. It had my wife and I dancing around the room laughing our a$$es off.
Bottom line, if you're down with the clown, this is another must have for your collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars It'll grow on me., September 1, 2009
This review is from: Bang! Pow! Boom! (Audio CD)
Once again this is another great CD by ICP. I've been down for a long time, and I will admit that times have changed and so has their style. Some can't get used to it, and understandably so; while others are going to adore this album. I love how they talk about killing, and torturing pedophiles (I hate those bastards), but there are just a lot of songs on the album that I cannot (have not) get into. The album is great and will be awesome for any juggalo that's new in the family, but will take some time to grow on the juggalo that's been down for a while. Compared to The Great Milenko, RiddleBox, etc. this album is horrible, but it is a welcomed new face in the "wicked" genre. I own the Blue copy, and so far I've listened to it (all the way through) about 8 times and this comment is all I have to say about it thus far. MCL my brothers, & sisters!

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 covers-different songs, September 1, 2009
This review is from: Bang! Pow! Boom! (Audio CD)
I just picked this album up, and found out that these albums don't just feature 3 different colors covers(red, green, and blue) but they all have one song that the other 2 don't. Here they are:

Red: Freaky Creep Show

Green: The Clowns are back

Blue: Beautiful Doom

So if you want all the track you have to buy all three albums. Unless you buy the track buy themselves.

Why do they hide great songs, like Shaggy's song hidden after Bang Pow Boom. That's a great song that should have been on the album. Not hiddenn.... I just miss the old day when songs were gritty and hard. This is good but, its not the Dark Carny Days... I miss the old days.

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally! An worthy follow up to jeckel brothers!, September 25, 2009
This review is from: Bang! Pow! Boom! (Audio CD)
Although I'm not a big fan of ICP (a.k.a juggalo), I still enjoy their music. In my opinion their best albums are the great melinko and amazing jeckel brothers. Their more recent albums (hells pit, the tempest, wraith, etc) were decent at best and basically pretty bland.
Ever since jeckel brothers, I've been looking for an album that was just as awesome, but their follow up albums lacked the creative spark that made them interesting and fun to listen to.

That's why I'm so glad they released bang boom pow! Its much better than those albums and revisits what made them so well known in the first place. The beats are better than ever and it doesn't drag on or seem watered down like the recent efforts. Although it took several disappointments along the way to get here, they finally made a worthy follow up to jeckel brothers.

If you liked great melinko or jeckel brothers, then I highly recommend this album to you and you don't have to be a juggalo to appreciate it.
