Sounds very good on the Form2.

I had a small problem with the plastic plates that hold them together, they cracked which caused a creaking noise when I move my head.

Not for users with big heads: they don't fit the apex of my dome, so I have to wear them a bit skewed toward the back.

Danish luxury electronics company B&O delivers a well-designed, classically inspired, high-performance headphone with the Form-2. "Bang og Olufsen" have stores all over Denmark, even in the smallest of towns. Yet in the US, they are few and far between. After the bygone age of the record player, few Americans know of or remember the company internationally known for function and design in electronics. Most of their products come with a hefty price tag, but the $99 MSRP for these on-ear headphones is a Benjamin well spent.

Design - the frame is made of a matte finished black plastic material. The adjustment mechanism is metal and slides cleverly into the plastic frame. The speakers themselves are positioned in a ball-and-socket joint and are removable for maintenance or accident-- I know from experience. Someone once tripped over my cord and instead of ripping the wire from the insert socket, the speaker itself detached from the frame of the headphones and landed safely in my lap. The speakers are, of course, round. But the foam pad is square. With some headphones, the foam decomposes after time but mine have withstood normal use for over two years and still look as new. The black cable also has a matte finish, something you don't normally see with electronics.

Comfort - The speakers fit comfortably over the ear without too much pressure. Only after prolonged use, do the top of my ears feel a bit numb. This can be easily prevented by moving the position of the speakers up or down over the ear.

Performance - Bass response is exceptional for the size of headphones, especially considering they aren't sound isolating like the more expensive Bose headphones. The sound is rich and is undistorted with the vast majority of songs.

without a doubt these are the best sounding headphones i've ever purchased although i'm greatly disappointed in the durability. i use these headphones at my desk at work and ONLY while sitting and working on the computer. within six months of purchasing them the plastic on the inside of the headphones broke next to the screws that hold the metal "slides" in place. i was very impressed with b&o when i brought them back to the store and they replaced them with no questions asked. but here i am, a year after that incident and my headphones are broken in the same spot and just two minutes ago they snapped completely in half when i was simply putting them on to my head.

so my review is mixed: the sound quality, as expected from b&o is phenomenal, although now that my second pair has broken in the same spot(s) with sedentary movement i'm not sure i'll get these again. it's a shame though, i really loved these headphones...

I've own them for 5 years now, they still sound excellent, very good for listening music at home, but not very recomendable for going out with them (must handle with care). They will improve A LOT the sound out of your mp3 player, cd player and you can enjoy the full potential of a nice home stereo system.
My ears do tend to hurt a bit after 2 hours with them, but that's enought time for me. Bass is incredible for the size they have, mid's are perfectly clear and hi tones are crispy, well defined and not ear piercing. Give them a try, you wont regret it. By the way, please excuse my english, I'm not a native speaker.

I'll admit it, I have a big head. Not in a full-of-myself sort of way, but in a need-a-large-hat sort of way. And if you have a big head like me, these headphones will break at the earpiece within a few months. It's a terrible design, really. Like other B&O products (the corded phone that could create its own feedback comes to mind) I have had the urge to buy, the form trumps function.

I love the way they look. If only they had taken into account things like, oh, say, head size? No, why would they do that for headphones? It's not like people put them on their heads or, you know, head is in the name of the product.

Sources: iPhone5 alone, iPhone5 with FiiO E07k using LOD, iPhone5 with v-moda Verza DAC/amp, various computers using the v-moda Verza DAC/amp.

First impressions of the B&O Form2: A definite hi-fi signature due to a full treble response, with a moderate emphasis around 3 khz, and a rather light bass. The light bass isn't surprising given that the Form2 is a 25-year old model still in production (although the materials and QC have probably been improved over the years), and that it was B&O's version of the lightweight plastic headphones made for Sony Walkman cassette players of that day. The good (and unusual) news is that the Form2 sound improves greatly with the iPod "Bass Booster" EQ setting, or the equivalent setting on computer music players. This is the first headphone I've had that takes a simple iPod bass boost without becoming muddy or otherwise unclear. Note that all comments from here on refer to the sound of the Form2 with the Bass Booster EQ applied, because (in my opinion) it wouldn't be a hi-fi headphone otherwise, and I don't review non-hi-fi headphones. Bass Boost is on from here to the end of the review.

After a short burn-in period and listening to 100 or so familiar music tracks, I ran several tone sweeps and tests with discrete tones. The bass (noting the above comments about EQ) is down slightly at 40 hz, down significantly at 30 hz (perhaps 6 db), and there's little or no useful response below 30 hz. However, the 30 hz response is solid fundamental, judging by the sound and the weight. In spite of what I consider a satisfactory bass response, it's still not going to please anyone who requires an audiophile "flat" bass, although it gets close to that.
