5.0 out of 5 stars Pure & Raw Dance Brilliance!
Manny Lehman's brand of vocal house, excellent beats and flawless production does not fail to impress! From start to end, every track on this compilation is catchy, fun and great to dance to. Stand out tracks include offerings from Murk, the Roc Project and ofcourse the brilliant Kristine W., whose "Save my Soul" is probably the best dance track release of the...

1.0 out of 5 stars ZInged by Copy Protection
I only listen to Techno/Dance via my iPod while working out at the gym. This disc has copy protection on it that prevents you from turning it in to MP3s and then playing it on an iPod...so this disc is useless. I love Manny Lehman's music--he's my favorite DJ--but do not like his "anti-piracy" tactics, so I guess this is the last albumn of his I will buy...

Unless you only listen to you music via 20-year old technology I would suggest passing on this disc.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, June 9, 2004

I too was excited to receive this CD, but didn't realize that the CD would be useless to me. The copy protection prevents me from playing in my car (which is where I listen the most) and at the gym, because I can't transfer it to my MP3 player. The label, TommyBoy was no help at all either. Now I'm stuck with a $14 coaster... thanks Manny. I will not be buying any more of your CDs, as long as they are copy protected.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wish I Could Have Heard This CD, April 28, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Bangin 2: Progressive Beats (Audio CD)
I just bought this CD today, took it back to the office, put it in my laptop, and then immediately returned it to the store. As everyone else has pointed out, the encryption prevents you from listening to the CD in anything but the most standard of equipment (stereos, etc.). No wonder record companies are losing money. Too bad - I like Manny Lehman. Maybe he'll find a new record company that understands it's now the 21st century.

3.0 out of 5 stars This is Not Live Manny. Disk is is copy protected anyway..., May 11, 2004
This review is from: Bangin 2: Progressive Beats (Audio CD)
I was looking forward to this CD for a while and was glad when it finally came out. That is until I tried to play it on my computer. My primary music player is my Ipod (largest selling music player in the past 6 months HELLO) so the fact that none of these songs can travel (except in a clunky cd player) is a bust. I did finally play the CD in the car radio and was not overly impressed.

A few of the songs at the beginning were cool standalone and I wish I could hear them more often but alas it is not to be. The end of the CD sounds more like the type of songs Manny would play live but with the limited selection made available to him it is a serviceable mix.

I already own "This Beat Is" as a single I bought on Amazon and any of the other songs I want to hear I guess I will have to buy as singles as well. This Disk will be reserved for when I am bored and taking a long ride in the car. Anyplace else I go I would have a much better selection to play available.
Would never have bought this CD if I knew about the copy protection up front.

Now "Live at the Roxy 3", that is one fine piece of club music. If you have heard Peter Live then you will know that CD.

Maybe next time Manny. All the best.

Lehman has to be one of the finest DJs around today, and I hope to see more of his music released commercially.

Regardless of the inability to copy onto other devices, the mixes on this CD are so incredibly upbeat and well constructed that it is no doubt the best of the year. If you've ever heard Manny live, this CD is just like that -- all energy and perfect transitions.

Look I love this CD it rocks. However I will not buy any CD that is copy protected. Face it CD - D.J producers your product has serious flaws in the longlivity department. The more you play it .... the more damage ... That is why we burn it. I will be seriously pissed if I spend hard earned dollars on a CD and I find that I cannot prolong its life by copy. Shame on you **greedy artist ... Have a little faith that dance music lovers will do the right thing.
