5.0 out of 5 stars Reassured by An Expert
In his book, Lawrence Kamm, an electro-mechanical engineer, tells us "If you want the benefits of travel the odds are so much more favorable for air than for car that it is the obvious choice, and those odds are so immensely favorable that you can look forward to your trip as one of the safest episodes in your life." 1.0 out of 5 stars not worth the price.
This product was a disapointment for me. I found the writing style confusing and unprofessional. More than half of the info in the book is taken directly from the FAA. I could have found this info on my own probably for free on the internet. The book itself is a photocopied booklet, physically not what I expected for the price.

In his book, Lawrence Kamm, an electro-mechanical engineer, tells us "If you want the benefits of travel the odds are so much more favorable for air than for car that it is the obvious choice, and those odds are so immensely favorable that you can look forward to your trip as one of the safest episodes in your life." These are very reassuring words! I mostly enjoyed this book because it is written by someone who really understands planes and the physics of flight. Kamm explains that every system on an airplane has not only a backup, but a backup for the backup. If you want to learn all about the mechnics of flight, in layman's terms, and be thoroughly ensured that flying is by far the most safe form of transport in the world, then this book is for you. And to top it all off, the book has a very friendly "tone" and is quite fun and entertaining to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Banish the Fear of Flying, November 24, 2000

This review is from: Banish Fear Of Flying (Paperback)
Larry Kamm accomplishes his mission of banishing the fear of flying by explaining why planes do what they do, using understandable and entertaining examples. In fact, he tells you everything but why wing walkers are able to remain upright on top a speeding plane. His book also analyses and clarifies all procedures involved in flying before you leave the ground, your rights and obligations as a passenger and what to do when you are not satisfied with airline service. Buy and read this amazing book and you too will be reassured that you are safer in the air then on the ground. Be prepared and fly smart.

I found that this pamplet did not provide anything more than basic information. The author only acknowledges that it is reasonable to be fearful. I would not recommend this to anyone who has ever flown or who is looking for a solution to their problem, you will not learn anything new.
