The top rack clips are mounted at the top of bag, which means the bag sits low....a low center of gravity is much better.

In the end this Banjo Brothers waterproof pannier won out with it's array of great features and competitive pricing.

This is a great all-weather pannier, with plenty of space for everything I need when I commute to work: pants, shirt, shoes, underwear, travel towel, and rain gear in case the weather gets bad....and still has room to spare for random extras.

Here is what I like best about the bag:

    1) The weather-proof liner is removable (attaches with velcro) so you can remove it easily to gain a little extra space when the weather is nice. I plan to spray some scotchguard on the bag, which may make it "waterproof enough" without the liner (haven't tested this yet) but the liner is very heavy duty, and i have no doubt it will protect my gear in the foulest weather.

    2) The top closes with an adjustable strap, so it can cinch tight when you have small loads, and loosen to accommodate large loads.

    3) It is very easy to mount and remove the bag, and the carrying handle is very good....just grab, pull and go.

    4) The top rack clips are made of metal, and seem very well constructed. Since I am riding to work every day, I really value this durability.

    5) The top rack clips are mounted at the top of bag, which means the bag sits low....a low center of gravity is much better.

This is actually my #1 reason for purchasing (and loving) this bag....because it sits low, it also accommodates my Topeak Laptop Bag (MTX Office Bag), which mounts to the top of my Topeak rack horizontally and sits over the panniers. Most panniers attach lower on the bag, so the top of the bag sits *above* the rack...so they don't work with the MTX Office Bag. I purchased this bag because it was the only weather-proof bag I could find that mounts low enough for my laptop case. But then I discovered all the other great things about the bag.

    I HIGHLY recommend it!

I was going to purchase the BB Saddlebag panniers, but when I got my hands on these at the bike shop I was sold. These are the perfect size and not as big on my commuter as some of the product photos show. I live in the Seattle area and commute several times a week and the waterproof liner works great. I can carry a laptop, work clothes, dress shoes and lunch with no problems. They are great for taking to the market and picking up a couple bags of groceries also. I'm currently using these with my Topeak Beamrack and will say that if overloaded, these will sway, but with a lighter load there are no issues. Some people have complained that the clips do not secure the bag well on the rack and bags will jump off over a large bump. Easy fix, run the buckle of the left pannier through the carry strap of the right pannier and visa-versa. For the money you cannot beat these for overall performance and ease of use.

Ok, So right now I live here in Germany and its kind of like Washington State. The weather is continuously in some state of wetness (rain, mist, snow). This bag a proven itself over the last few months in all kinds of weather. I currently use with a Topeak 29er rack on my MTB. I travel 14 miles each day, in all road conditions, water, ice, mud, snow and this bag has never once proved to be problematic. The rain liner is heavy duty and easily removed and installed. It does have a single (non-adjustable) shoulder strap and single hand loop strap; both have held up well. The buckler for the roll closure has worked as advertised. As for carrying capacity, being in the military I can carry a two full uniform sets (rolled up) and boots and still have room for a tupper ware stored lunch. Note this bag does not have internal/external pockets. So organizing your gear in the bag is recommended unless you don't mind digging around for your stuff. Even after being covered in dirt and mud the outside of the bag was easily cleaned with very few stains. One thing to note is the mounting hooks on the back of the bag. They are metal and will scratch the paint off your rack from installing and removing the bag and all the bumps from the road. I would recommend visiting the Banjo Brother website to get the full details of this bag before purchase.

I can't hook the back strap anywhere, wish it came with another attachment like a hook. So the strap is just there! I am able to rig it so that it's secured. I loop the top strap to the rack before locking it, and seems to work well. My laptop fits in the bag, and it has lots of room for my makeup, a pair of shoes and other things. ~David's wife

I was trying to decide on panniers and it was hard for me to picture how big this one was. It is quite large, and the roll top allows for even more room which makes it quite versatile. I have not used it in rain, but it has a waterproof liner that can be removed if you aren't always riding in rain which is great. Also has carrying strap, perfect for just carrying it into work. Would buy again.

We did a lot of research before buying just the right pannier for our 11 year old daughter's bike. There are a lot of panniers out there and it seemed overwhelming at first to differentiate between them all. In the end this Banjo Brothers waterproof pannier won out with it's array of great features and competitive pricing. Here's what clinched the deal for us:

Easy on and off hook attachments-simply lift off the bike rack to remove.
Easy closure-just fold top of bag over and secure with clip.
Shoulder strap-detachable for ease of carrying pannier from bike to store, or school locker and back again.
Lightweight-this is really a very similar idea to a giant lunch bag.
Waterproof-inside and out with a removable inner waterproof liner (much like the inside of a lunch bag)
Red color and smart styling-important among the 11 year old girl crowd!

All in all a great pannier that looks great, feels expensive and is great quality, all for around $50. Glad we didn't cheap out on something of lower quality as it survived its' first downpour while keeping textbooks and a lunch nice and dry!
