3.0 out of 5 stars Adventure Racing Banjo Style
I always seem to look at what comes next for Game Boy players when it comes to all different kinds of games, whether it is classic revivals, or racers. I always seem to look at what comes next for Game Boy players when it comes to all different kinds of games, whether it is classic revivals, or racers. Nevertheless, there is always a racing game that really doesn't seem to hit the nail on the head at all. Yet, with Nintendo, they actually sometimes miss the mark at any game. For Banjo, a occuring character, he does have it, but loses it quite a bit. Since his debut in the Nintendo 64 smash, Diddy Kong Racing, and on to the surprisingly successful Banjo-Kazooie, he has been one of those characters that can be quite surprising.

Banjo Pilot is a airplane racer that has a bit to deal with in the way of adventure, as you take to the skies through several outrageous courses from the Banjo-Kazooie games. The games graphics fairs very well, but hose who've played Diddy Kong Racing might feel that this doesn't really have as much of a challenge, as you face foes in several ways like the traditonal race courses where you not only have to win 1st place, you'd have to also collect all the jiggies to achieve the medal, and methods. Yet, the control is very easy to maintain and the gameplay is very exciting for anybody who missed the N64 classic. It gives them a new opportunity to enjoy an air racer, instead of a land racer.

Although Banjo Pilot happens to be an adequate racer, many might just want to pass this racer up. Yet, some Game Boy owners migth just want to rent this one, or try it in the stores and see it for yourself on this handheld game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Banjo Pilot......, January 8, 2006

Originally unveiled as Diddy Kong Pilot, after three years in development- Banjo Pilot went through a name change as well as a change in characters when Microsoft bought Rare. Banjo Pilot features characters from the Banjo-Kazooie games but, instead of being a regular kart racer...Rare decided to put them all in flying machines. It's this twist that changes the racing design a bit to make Banjo Pilot a slight change from the kart-racing norm. The game itself, though, pretty much follows the kart racer formula in every respect. The game looks pretty awesome on the GBA and the control of your planes is practically dead-on. There's no slowdown when alot of racers are on the screen at once and the game runs rather smoothly.

What brings the game down a bit, from overall greatness, is the fact that it's a little hard to see with your vehicle in the way. Most of the time, you won't see power-ups til you're right up on them and that puts a damper on things.

While I would've preferred a Diddy Kong Racing game or a Banjo-Kazooie Kart Racer on my GBA, I do applaud Rare for coming up with the original concept of them being airborne instead of on land. It changes things up a bit, let me tell you. It has that Banjo-Kazooie style in spades with the jiggy challenge and other modes, as well as music common with the games. It's an intense racer that gets more challenging as you play. Out of the countless Kart racers out there, Banjo-Pilot is one of the more creative ones and is one that shouldn't missed. While it won't topple Mario Kart Super Circuit in terms of presentation and gameplay, it is one of the better games out there.
