This textbook emphasizes the fundamental attraction of neurology: the balance between clinical history, often with subtle psychological aspects; and knowledge of the basic anatomy and physiology of brain function. It clearly explains how to diagnose and treat common neurological disorders. Excellent reference even out of school. The sections are: "symptoms, signs and investigations," "disorders of anatomical regions," "infections," "diffuse and system disorders," and "psychological factors in neurology." The diagrams really helped me with learning function and dysfunction in several areas: cranial nerves, epilepsy, headaches, parkinsonism, MS, multiple other disorders. This book is well divided for easy reading into brief chapters with diagrams, photos of imaging studies and even photos of clinical signs and patient presentation where applicable.
