very good. Had worn out previous issue--pages falling out.
much easier to use.

i find this dictionary to be an absolute godsend it has a section at the back every known 6,7,8,9,10 letter word in it, a very worthwhile investment for any crossworder

Bought this as a replacement for the 1979 edition my father has used for 25 years because he really liked it but it is falling apart... The Amazon preview shows the original 1979 copyright page and cover design.
However, what shipped is a recent reprint of that 1979 edition-- minus a few key sections (according to my father).
So not only is the content outdated, but subsequent reprintings have also apparently removed some useful sections!

Only recommended if you are desperate-- unless you can find a true 1979 edition and don't mind the outdated content!

BEWARE! As I was thumbing through the pages of this dictionary, I happened upon a list of the Presidents of the United States and their respective wives. I noticed that the list ended at Jimmy Carter. No Reagan, Bush, Clinton or W! Went to see when the book was originally published and saw that it was first released in 1979. Re-released in 2003 & then in 2006. I wonder if Bantam just released the whole entire dictionary "un-updated" since 1979. Who knows what else needs updating in this book. Didn't think a respected company like Bantam would do such a thing, put out outdated info.

I bought this crossword dictionary about 20 years ago when I was starting out with doing crosswords. I haven't looked at it in years as it just seems like cheating. One word of caution, the binding is rather flimsy. My copy lost a few pages over the course of normal use.

Almost three weeks after ordered I still had not received the book, so I called and cancelled. Within 2 days I received an empty mailing box from the company. I would never order anything from these people. This must be a 1-2 person operation.

Out of all the crossword dictionaries... this is the best.
I had a hard time finding it and looked in 3 of the major book stores
with no luck. Found it on-line.

Very good service and the book I have been looking for a long time, well worth having.

For me, this is one of the best crossword dictionarys. It has helped more than any other I own.
