We just bought this slide and are returning it. The slide in the picture has a full layer/inflatable tubing underneath the pool. The slide we got does NOT. We called the company and got right thru to customer service, unexpectedly, and they informed us that to "cut costs" they removed the bottom layer of inflation. The first time our 4 year old daughter went down the slide she bounced on the bump in the slide, as designed, and landed in the 4 inches of water with no padding. It was a hard jolt to her spine and she immediately cried. It was a very hard landing with no padding. We had similar results when our 6 year old son went down, minus the crying. Please beware that we feel that this slide is NOT SAFE for your children until they make this slide with the air cushion underneath the pool again. We are looking to buy another water slide, probably from the same company, provided we can assure that it has the proper padding. I hope this helps others avoid our headaches with this specific product.

I've owned a couple other Banzai slides over the years (The Blast and The Plunge) but this one comes the closest to an ideal slide for kids to enjoy and parents to maintain.
First of all, let me just say the kids love this slide -- it's Banzai's tallest slide, has a cool little tunnel which, to me, really helps make the slide more watery, and has a wave (bump) that makes the smaller kids catch some air. BUT, for some short-sighted reason, the very bottom of the slide, the last 5 ft. or so, is not padded. The first time I set it up, my kids went down the slide, launched off the wave bump and landed on the unpadded bottom. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Not wanting to flush $399 down the toilet, I went out and bought two $10 air mattresses, inflated them and snugly placed them side by side UNDER the bottom of the slide. Thankfully, this did the trick and, in no time, our new slide was back in business. Also, after owning 3 Banzai slides, one thing is for certain -- holes will eventually appear ... especially at the seams and where there is a lot of friction. No sense in getting upset. Just gotta face it and embrace it. My new slide came with two seam holes. So, when you order one of these slides,

This was a huge hit at my son's 5th birthday party. My son would rather play on it when he has playdates so he doesn't play on it too much if it's just him, but he does love it. I purchased a huge plastic storage bin for it because trying to dry it out, roll it up, and drag it to the gargage just wasn't happening. It fits perfectly in the storage bin.

I had my 13th birthday party with the Black out Blast slide. EVERYONE had so much fun on the slide. The kids were tumbling and flipping on the slide and it was very durable. This slide is a blast and is a great summer time toy!

I bought this for my son's fifth birthday. I am hoping it will keep the kids outside for some of our Louisiana summer. It blew up in less than 3 minutes. Quite a few children, ages 3-10, played on it all day with no problems. So far it seems to be very durable.
The kids absolutely love it. It seems like a great investment!

MY SON HAD HIS 9TH BIRTHDAY AND WE USED THIS SLIDE, IT WAS A HIT! THE CHILDREN HAD SO MUCH FUN, THEIR PARENTS HAD TO THREATEN THEM THAT THEY COULDN'T COME TO THE NEXT PARTY WITH IT IF THEY DIDN'T GET OFF(LOL). I KNOW THE RECOMMENDED AGE IS 5 BUT MY 2 YEAR OLD SON AND MY 3(SOON TO BE 4)YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAD A BLAST ON IT TOO. I FOUND THAT IT IS VERY DURABLE AND EASY TO SET UP. THIS IS WELL RECOMMENDED.I AM GLAD I BOUGHT MINES, THE OTHER PARENTS ARE EVEN THINKING ABOUT BUYING ONE. THIS WILL BE A HIT AT MY DAUGHTER'S PARTY IN 2 WEEKS I'M SURE AS WELL AS GREAT SUMMER FUN!!!

Bought this item for my sons 7th birthday party. It was the highlight of the party, even some of the adults joined in. I almost bought another slide, but after reading several reviews I am so glad that I bought this one. This slide is pretty safe for younger children because it is enclosed at the top where the child sits before sliding down. Other slides with a swimming pool at the bottom cause alot of water to be wasted because the pool deflates when the unit is turned off. So in order to keep all the water in the pool, you have to keep the unit running. This slide has enough water at the bottom to get wet and have a safe landing. I would highly recommend this product.

We have only used this slide a handful of times but already it was well worth the money spent. My kids are 5 and 2 and I feel safe with both of them playing on this slide. The tunnel actually provides more protection because there is no fear of the falling off of the top. It is much bigger then you think and it looks amazing in our back yard. The neighborhood kids look at it with their mouths open! It is so sturdy that even adults can use it and it doesn't even begin to deflate. Make sure that you secure this slide to the ground with the included stakes and water bags because it is top heavy and if you don't it will start to tip to the sides. My little ones even use it without water on it as a bouncy slide and they love it! It is a bit of a pain to take down and put away; it's about 65 pounds and almost impossible to fit back into the bag that it came in. I am going to take a fellow reviewers advice and get a plastic bin to put it in. I definatley recommend this!

We love the new slide that we purchased for our kids this summer. I thought at first we would be concerned about how dark it would be in the tunnel, but it is not dark at all. The phrase "black out" made me feel like it may be a darkened area, but it is not. The kids love it and I love how safe it is. No one has tried to jump off of the top of the slide to the bottom because the tunnel keeps them from doing that. The only concern I have at all is that the bottom ledge of the slide is not taller. My oldest son who is now 10 went really fast down the slide once and flipped off the end onto the ground. While he did not get hurt, he could have. It may be a good idea to put something soft at the end of the slide for an accident like that. We make the kids take turns being on the slide one at a time. There is a weight limit of 200 lbs. so even most of the adults can have fun on it. It is a great deal for the money. With gas prices the way that they are, we will be spending a lot of time at home this summer.

Way fun, but bottom landing not padded,

We searched for over a month for a water slide for our 3 kids (7, 5, and 3) and their multitude of friends that are always at our house. This one has so many great features, as other reviewers have outlined. However, ours didn't have an air filled landing. When the kids come off the second bump in the slide, they land basically on the hard ground. Also, after only 3 days, the lining of the pool on the landing ripped. Customer service has been very nice and we are going to be able to replace it, but are still very concerned about the lack of padding on the bottom. In fact, the pictures show the landing as padded.
