This is a fairly straightforward erotic romance with a little mythology, fae magic, suspense, and mystery thrown in. The author has a good grasp of how to write a romance, with excellent tension and a sweet ache to the smokin' hot love going on.
The main guy is the best kind of alpha; a nice balance of masculinity and tenderness, is definitely hot and sexy without being a bully or a jerk. One tiny critique, the dialogue between him and other guys felt, and this will sound weird, like a woman's perception of how guys talk.
The female protagonist is wounded and not very trusting at first but inevitably drawn to "her man." She's beautiful but not helpless, independent but not bitchy. Very well done pacing and delopment to their romance. The sex was well placed, probably halfway through for the first encounter and several satisfying interludes after that.
This is not very long, I read it in a couple nights, but it didn't feel rushed, there was a story here, not just two people falling in love. Sweet and satisfying, I look forward to the rest in this series. R-rated language and detailed M-F sex.

BRIEF SUMMARY
Aidan is a firefighter investigator for MAST, but nobody is aware that he is also a Fae. Aidan is a hundred year old Fae and is apart of the Salamander clan, a clan that is known for fire. While investigating a string of fires, he meets Laenan, a professor at a University, who is able to help to help him catch the arsonist.
THOUGHTS
This was a nice paranormal book. If you scroll down some more on this Amazon page, you will see a section called, Book Extras from the Shelfari Community. This gives a breakdown of the characters within the book and may be helpful to some.
I enjoyed the way the author fuses the erotica with paranormal aspect of the book. Normally, when reading a paranormal erotica, you do tend to have more erotica in most. With this story, there is a bit of a mystery involved, some action, and steamy chemistry between the main characters. Aidan definitely came off as a sexy firefighter and a sexier fae, who is a 100 years old. He also pulls you in, while you're reading about his character. Laenan is a professor, throughout the book she grew on me more. Both characters' dilemma with trying to stay away from each other brought out their need for passion, as they are trying to figure out the arsonist and their motives. I think it became more paranormal as the book progress further into the story.
Though I am interested in reading the series, I am really looking forward to Mike's story. Mike, though a firefighter, isn't a fae. I enjoyed reading about him and look forward to reading his story. I also enjoyed the other characters the author provided us with, as they will be in upcoming books.

I really enjoyed this short ebook. The characters had realistic chemistry and the storyline was very fast paced. I hope we see more stories set in this same fae human world.
