Oscar Cullman has the extraordinary ability to stay focussed on the New Testament core of the matter. His exploration of Baptism draws inferences from Jewish Prosylyte baptism and the practice of the Essenes which are summarily dismissed in his treatment of the general baptism of Jesus as applied to the Christian Community. A truly wonderful exposition. A must read for all Christians.
