The introduction to this book is very good, ranging over several different relevant areas, lucidly and carefully. The text itself is clear (though the left-to-right pagination is confusing). I might make one criticism- that in a work of such technical nature, more of an attempt to illustrate and explain the details would have been helpful. The notes as they are are often quite vague.
