We thought it would have been nice if Barbara K included a bigger measuring tape. While 10-feet may be adequate for many small tasks, it’s not big enough to span the large rooms you find in many of today’s houses. We also would have been pumped if the kit came with a multitool of some sort. The company offers these, but they must be purchased separately. Despite these minor gripes, the Barbara K 30-Piece Signature Tool set is a top-notch package. When you factor in how much it would cost to buy each component separately, this price is a steal.

The Barbara K Story
Company founder Barbara K is a former New York City general contractor. Using her apartment as her first office, Barbara's vision and determination helped her land her first corporate client, IBM. She was also their first-ever female contractor. Soon after she attracted clients such as Carnegie Hall, iVillage, and Polo Ralph Lauren. I bought this as a gift for my wife who doubted she would ever use it...until the need arose. Then she was most pleased. She finds the tools more comfortable to hold and easier to use than my heavier tools. She appreciates the assortment of "odds and ends" which she, in the past, has been searching for. She was pleased with the "multiple use" tools. She has decided to keep it handy to where she can easily find it for little repair jobs....I still have the bigger ones given to me. Thus, though ordering was difficult, the final product was worth it.

I purchased this set in December 2003, and have never regretted it! As others have said, the tool sizes are great for smaller hands, and having every item in its own spot makes it easy to see if someone has borrowed something. This tool kit is frequently used, and nothing yet needs replacing. If you're considering a tool kit of your own, BUY THIS!

Tools designed for women. Comsumer Report rates them, "A winner!" I do too.

I've been giving them away as wedding gifts. Practical and useful for a new household. Better than another set of towels or a toaster.
