This is the first biography on the life of the late black Congresswoman from Texas, Barbara Jordan. Before her death in 1996, Mr. Teutsch conducted interviews with Ms. Jordan in Austin, Texas. After her death, the work was completed and it is a revealing look at how a small, black girl from Houston, Texas rose to an office of power and prestige.
