Buy this CD. The live show was fantastic and the CD captures the feeling of being there very well.

To be honest, there's no single track on this CD that numbers among my favorites, and I rarely listen to it outside of DJing swing dances. But there's a reason every swing DJ I know owns this recording: it's solid dance music from beginning to end! If you've seen Morrison perform, you already know why she's a favorite of lindy hoppers; if not, buy this CD and find out.

If you can't get enough Barbara Morrison, I also recommend Live at the Dakota (for listening, but not as much for dancing).

ms. morrison's talent and effort are on full display here. her selection of music is outstanding. the musicians working with her are excellent. the pacing of the show is exact. this cd is fun and jaw-dropping. it's live music at its best. i wish this cd went on and on.....

Okay - I admit it - I think Paul and Sharon are really cool.

In case you are wondering - Paul Overton and Sharon Ashe are world class dance instructors who definitely know 3 things:
-They know how to dance and teach dance
-They know how to throw a great dance(the 9:20 Special)
-They have impeccable taste in music

This CD combines those three things - this 9:20 Special combined a great singer backed by a fantastic band with an energetic group of dancers and got one special evening. Unfortunately I can't say I was there, but I am happy to say they were nice enough to put it on CD

If you like jazz, blues or standards you will love Barbara Morrison and her band of accomplished musicians ripping thru this collection of great songs. Just look at the track list.
If you like to lindy - this is a must for your collection. Although some of the songs are little long, they are all perfect for dancing. They were even nice enough to put BPMS on the track list

As with other reviewers, I was present at the time of this recording and this CD faithfully captures the excitement of the evening.

The energy of the performance and the crowd will flow from your speakers and into your soul. You'll find yourself chanting along with the audience on "Everyday (I Have the Blues)", and tapping your foot to every tune.

I challenge you to sit still during "Never Make Your Move Too Soon / Smack Dab In the Middle". It can't be done, the music is so infectious you'll be up and dancing before you know it.

I own other CDs by this wonderful performer but the quality of the recording, the energy of the performance, and the awesome selection of songs makes this my favorite.

If you happen to be one of the lucky few who were there that evening and had the privilege of dancing the night away to these songs, you simply MUST have this CD. Relive the event everyday by putting this CD in your player.

I attended this recording (a couple hundred of us danced while she sang... what a trip!), and the CD faithfully reproduces the wonderful joy and exuberance and depth and soul of Barbara Morrison and her fabulous band.

You can't help but smile when you listen to this album. Get it!

A friend of mine turned me on to the music of Barbara Morrison. She is awesome. Her voice has such a cool sound, perfect for blues and jazz delivery. Buy this CD. You won't be disappointed.
