I love the way Barbara and Susan are upbeat and encouraging. Even when they talk about the downside (and they do talk about the downside) of the empty nest years, they do so with an attitude of hope and encouragment. Especially helpful are the suggestions on finding out who you are once you separate your identity from your children's and then discovering what to do with yourself in a meaningful way for the many years you probably have left to make a difference on this earth. A great read, whether your kids are gone or just getting ready to leave.

This is the greatest book, and one that every woman needs to read at this time in her life! My husband has been telling me that he's worried about me because I've "changed". He says I'm not as much fun as I used to be, and that he thinks I'm depressed. Well guess what...I'M NORMAL!!! With all the different emotional and physical changes that we go through during this time, it's no wonder we seem different. The good news is that it's temporary, and should be embraced as a new beginning to the next season of our lives! Thank you, Barbara and Susan!

I had heard about this book in an interview on the radio. I went to the site to purchase it and they were sold out! So I tried Amazon. This book is great! I couldn't believe there were Moms out there that were hurting as much as me when their kids grew up and went out on their own. They offer ways to grow from this and look to the future with enthusiasm.

I was excited about the content of this book which is why I bought it. The book centers around Christianity and 'praying' about your empty nest problem. This is certainly one of many ways to overcome and deal with this problem. But I was expecting more practical advice and this book had none of that. I think the empty nest syndrome is a common problem-especially with mothers. I would have appreciated more suggestions of how to alleviate this.

I first read this book as a part of a Bible study this summer in preparation for becoming an empty nester. It was so helpful and I felt so strongly that more people needed to hear the information presented in this book that I am now leading my own study with another group of women whose children go to the same college as my daughters. They are loving the book and we have only covered the first 3 chapters. I have assured them that the best is yet to come!

This book was perfect for this chapter of my life. I related to about everything. The tears, the lack of energy, the need for something new... I highly recommend this book to all moms who are experiencing the flying away of their fledglings. It gave me hope that my life's purpose is not completely over. It is time to re-charge for the next season.

This book was extremely helpful and insightful. The best thing I gleaned from it was not to rush into anything new just because the children have all left the home. Take the time to figure out what you should be doing, think about what you're good at and most of all pray through the whole process! They give some good references for other resources as well.

Have had 5 sons and the youngest just left for college! Since this is what I have devoted my full time to for the last 30 years I felt lost! This book is most excellent, very helpful...I immediately connected with a larger world of women who were feeling as lost as I was...WAS! Thanks ladies, for a fabulous book!
