Product Description

For centuries, man has looked to the heavens and asked the most simple, yet profound questions: Where is Heaven? How do we get there? Barbara Walters speaks with some of the world’s greatest religious leaders and scholars, including the Dalai Lama, Theodore Cardinal McCarrick, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, Dr. Calvin Butts, and Rabbi Neil Gillman about the differing views on Heaven the world’s religions hold. From Dharamsala, India, to the inside of Israeli prisons, and Harlem’s Abyssinian Baptist Church, viewers will be taken on a journey of heart and soul and mystery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hopefully Barbara won and Emmy!!, August 25, 2008
I saw this special when it originally aired on ABC a few years back.

Barbara Walters handles the subject matter beautifully! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this again and again on DVD.

This documentary gets its information from both sides of the table. Anyone who watches this will NOT be disappointed.

It goes into great detail about different opinions of God and Heaven. The title says it all. BUY THIS.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heaven where is it?? , June 17, 2007
By M. Fletcher (MN United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
An intriguing look at what heaven means in many different religious traditions, what people who claim to have had near-death experiences believe about the afterlife, and why heaven has such a powerful hold on the popular imagination.

I wonder what Barbara (who is Jewish) was thinking as she questioned a Palestinian prisoner? And the flirting with His Holiness the Dalai Lama... Babs really...

5.0 out of 5 stars Walters IS Heaven! , March 1, 2007
By Navy Bean "Navy Bean" (Amsterdam/Dayton, OH) - See all my reviews
I make no secret of the fact that I think Barbara is one of the world's most attractive women. So, when I found out she was doing a special on heaven ... I should have just shown her my scrapbook of her career. I keep it under my bed for easy access when I'm feeling lonely or everyone else is out of the house and I have some time to do whatever I want.

And when I'm done, I don't feel the shame I do when I read Star Jones' book or listen to a Clay Aiken CD.
