This review is from: Barbershop 2: Back in Business (Audio CD)
The Barbershop 2 Soundtrack1. Mary J. Blige Feat. Eve - Not Today tight jam featured also on MJB's Love & Life album...4.5 stars 2. Sleepy Brown feat. Outkast - Hands down the best song on the album...Outkast drops classic verses and Sleepy Brown gets down on the album. Andre especially kills it. Always love to hear him rap. Can't wait for the new Sleepy Brown! 5 Stars 3.Mya feat. Chingy - Fallen RMX - Tight song until the beat changes and after it does that there is too much goin on...2.5 stars 4. Clipse - PU$$y - A decent song by Clipse even though they sound very different from what they used to sound like...it's aight. 3.5 stars 5.Keyshia Cole feat. Eve - This song samples the classic classic classic Luther Vandross Never Too Much song. I Can jam to this song because the sample is clearly evident. Keyshia Cole is a capable singer and Eve delivers. 4 stars 6. G-Unit - Unconditionally - Sounds like a leftover from their album and that's not good....2 stars 8. Mya feat. Sean Paul - Things Come & Go - It's aight but Mya's singing is very light on this song and it turns me off...2.5 stars 9. Floetry feat. Mos Def - Thisisaluvsong - Mos Def delivers on the cut and Floetry gets down with it...a funky track...feeling it...4.5 Stars 10. D12-Barbershop - D12 sucks and the beat is horrible and the hook is mighty lame. 1 star 11. Mobb Deep - One of Ours - Another aight track...Mobb Deep spit the usual but the beat is atrocious. 2 stars 13. Morgan Smith feat. 3LW - On The Weekend -- They butcher an SOS Band classic with Foxy Brown wannabe and nonsingers on the hook...pitiful...unless you are funky you cannot sample the SOS Band. Get these clowns outta here. -5000 stars. 14. Spitfiya feat. Anthony Hamilton - Make It Home - After four terrible tracks Anthony Hamilton saves the day. 4 stars. 15. Avant & Keke Wyatt - Your Precious Love - These two make a good duet. Whenever they get together it always seems to be something good. Apart they are nothing but together they can do some things, nice way to end the album. 4.5 stars. The first Barbershop soundtrack was better but this one is aight...not total trash. Worth having for the Outkast and Floetry tracks. But if you don't already have it...I'd say skip it. 2.5 stars.

Pretty decent Soundtrack.................,

This review is from: Barbershop 2: Back in Business (Audio CD)
Unlike most soundtracks, which seem to only have a collection of various artists' leftover tracks, the "Barbershop 2: Back in Business" (2004) soundtrack is a decent fifteen track release.Mary J. Blige and Eve start the album off strong with "Not Today" a nice collaboration. Next Outkast hook up with Sleepy Brown and deliver the upbeat love song "I Can't Wait", good to see Andre rhyming again, though its Sleepy smooth vocals that are the highlight of this cut for me. Chingys cut is skip material for me, then the Clipse deliver "Pussy", a decent track with a banging beat. Eve and Keyshia Cole deliver an upbeat R & B/rap collaboration with "Never". G-Unit's "Unconditionally" comes next, not really feeling the hook to this track though 50, Banks and Buck come across okay. Olivia sings over a Lil Jon beat on "All", not really feeling this cut, maybe because I like the original more. Mos Def and floetry deliver a laidback cut with "Wanna B Where U R". I was looking forward to Mobb Deep's "One of Ours", but Mobb don't come through with anything special on this one (hopefully there saving those cuts for there album). I had never heard of the female rapper known as Morgan Smith up until this release, her collaboration with 3LW is good. Spitfiya and R & B singer Anthony Hamilton deliver a standout collaboration with "Make it Home", this ones my favorite track at the moment. This is actually first time I have heard Spitfiya, what I like is he shows hunger in his rhymes. Keke Wyatt and Avant close off the album with the calm "Your Precious Love" which sounds like one of those old love songs back in the day. This was a good CD but some of the songs in the film aren't on the soundtrack like that Tupac song and "C'mon" - Mystikal feat. Iron, that's the track with the people dancing in the subway. But Thanks to PPV and my DVR, here's the song list from the credits and who it was *performed* by (unless otherwise noted). =) "Stars and strips" - written by John P. Sousa "Hold on I'm coming" - Sam & Dave "Let's get censored" - Black Eyed Peas "Lose your mind" - Bubba Sparxxx "Fallen (Zone 4 remix)" - Mya ft. Chingy "Get up" - Amel Larrieux "Wanna b where u r (thisizzaluvsong)" - Floetry ft. Mos Def "I'm back" - written by Marshall Mathers, Andre Young, Michael Elizondo "Tight for" - The Co-Stars "Move on me" - The RZA and Richard Gibbs "Private party" - Olivia "Your precious love" - Avant, Cedric the Entertainer, and Byron Willis "A toast to men" - Willa Ford "Suga suga" - Baby Bash "Wade in the water" - Queen Latifah "C'mon" - Mystikal ft. Iron "Swagger back" - Keith Murry "SportsCenter theme" - Queen Latifah "Hot & wet" - 112 "Thug n u thug n me (remix)" - 2 Pac "Not today" - Mary J. Blige ft. Eve "Smells like funk" - Black Eyed Peas "I can't wait" - Sleep Brown ft. Outcast "Scared" - Ashanti ft. Irv Gotti "Never" - Keyshia Cole ft. Eve "Put up or shut up" - Gang Starr "There she goes" - Nate Dogg

I CAN'T WAIT 4 Sleepy Brown!,
By rick rude (CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Barbershop 2: Back in Business (Audio CD)
We most know Sleepy Brown singing the hooks on such jamz Like Ludacris's "Saterday" (ohh ohh), and Outkast's big boi's "I Like The Way You Move", it is his Hit "I Can't Wait That Wait" that brings the fire to the kitchen. An old school vibe with Sleepy's smooth voice and Outkasts original raps make the song simmer. Off of the Barbershob 2 soundtrack, "I Can't Wait" is my favorite track on the album which features tracks from stars like Mya, Sean Paul, and Eve to name a few. Sleepy Browns album is expected to drop in the early summer and all I can say is I CAN'T WAIT! Peace Rick
