2.0 out of 5 stars DS version exactly the same as the GBA version to a t!
Hi I'm a 21 year old Autistic adult gamer...

Okay to be quite frank I love the Barbie video games most to say the least and yeah I'm 21 and I play barbie video games and watch all the barbie movies too. I'm a big Barbie fan! But this game is insulting. See a couple of months ago I bought the Barbie: 12 dancing princesses game for the GBA and liked it but...

My 5 yr old daughter received this game with the Nintendo DS gaming system for Christmas. She loves the graphics and that the game follows along with the story. She does have difficulty manuevering around in certain parts of the game and can't read any of the dialog throughout the game. It has been lots of fun trying to find Genevieve's sisters and finally defeating Rowena with help from me. Girls ages 5-9 may find this game enjoyable. Older girls may not have interest in Barbies much but the game is challenging enough for them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really fun game to play, even after you've "beat it" the first time!, January 13, 2007

We got this as our daughter's (age 7) first Nintendo DS game, and the whole family has had fun with it! It took us a while to figure out the various tricks to get through the levels (we're not big gamers), but the initial challenge was fun for all three of us and now that we "get it", it's still a fun to play through over and over!

Hi I'm a 21 year old Autistic adult gamer...

Okay to be quite frank I love the Barbie video games most to say the least and yeah I'm 21 and I play barbie video games and watch all the barbie movies too. I'm a big Barbie fan! But this game is insulting. See a couple of months ago I bought the Barbie: 12 dancing princesses game for the GBA and liked it but didn't feel it had quite enough levels so I traded it in.

Well this month in february of 09 I bought Barbie: 12 dancing princesses - DS version I figured because different game format the game would be set up a little more different but you'd still get the jist of the movie yeah I got the jist of the movie but the DS version of this game play's exactly to a T like the GBA version you don't use the touch screen except to start the game ewww wow... and guess what you get to use the microphone to blow out fires ewww real scary NOT! I am not impressed with mattel and activision all I can say is I've seen them put out much better Barbie video games than this I'm so disappointed because I really liked the movie I thought the video game would be just as good as well and it's not.

Say your money on the DS version and just get the GBA version they are exactly alike to a t the only difference for this barbie game is just paying for the size of the cartridge even the graphic's are the same as the GBA version. Save your self some moneyand get the GBA version there exactly alike.

I bought this game for my 5 year old daughter. We have 4 of the Barbie games and this is our (I have played too) favorite. Barbie and the Three Musketeers is our second. My daughter does pretty well with this on her own and has only required my help on a few of the higher jumping parts. She enjoys seeing the new powers you receive when you rescue a dancing princess. I would strongly recommend it for most ages. Barbie as a character seems more juvenile these days but there is still a challenge to the game that older children will relate to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun For All Ages!, May 29, 2010
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Barbie: 12 Dancing Princesses (Video Game)
I am way too old to play with Barbies, but this game is really fun! It is hard at times too. It gets confusing when you can't find your way around, but overall I like it a lot. The only part I don't like is that there are passwords, so if you are at a level and want to continue, you have to put in a password, and it will take you there. I don't always remember a password, so I have to enter a different one, and continue from there. Sometimes I get frustrated, and start over, or I just want to start over. You have to find all the sisters, and every time you do, you get a certain power, such as the first is being able to get rodents, bugs, etc. away. They can, not always, but sometimes, make you fall off somewhere. I've only gotten to the 3rd sister. It's tough, but fun!

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent game..., October 2, 2007

My daughter is three and I bought this game because she loved the movie so much. She has a DS Lite and owns Kirby (she loves it) and Yoshi's Island (she loves it). She likes this game simply becaus it's Barbie. She plays the other games more. It's probably good for a 5 to 6 yr old girl who has experience with video games and loves the Barbie character.

This game was a gift for my 10 y/o dd's birthday. She likes it okay but her younger 5 y/o sister is who plays it every day. It is her favorite of all her sister's games. Luckily she is getting her own DS Lite for her birthday.
