We bought this for my little sister(age 4) and it was DEFINITLEY not worth it. The litter sand goes all over the place and leaks through the door. Plus it makes the worst mess any toy could make. The kitty is hard to squeeze to make it pee and the carry case is very easy to break apart sending sand all over the place. The barbie was very cute though (we actually got the brunnete) and marshmallow looked pretty cute too until she got sand all over her.Only if it is on sale buy it. This is worth [the money]for the barbie and then ditch litter box.

My 4 year old daughter just loves kittens and Barbie, so when this toy came out it was a "must have." I "must have" lost my mind when I bought it for her!

The kitty kennel turns into a litter box by removing the lid and door. There are 3 packets of "litter," which are really just colored sand. You make the kitty drink water from a bottle, then squeeze the kitty to make it "pee" in the litter box. This is where the mess begins. After just a few minutes of play, wet, clumpy pink and blue sand was everywhere! Despite prepping the area with several old bath towels, the sand made a huge mess. Even my daughter decided it wasn't as much fun as she originally thought it would be.

My daughter wanted a pet so we bought this Barbie with the cat and after taking care of Barbie's kitty my daughter soon learned the responsiblity that goes along with a pet. We are sticking to barbie because she realized it wouldn't be that much fun if she had to clean a real litter box.

My daughter begged for this toy and I foolishly purchased it. What a mess! Sand was everywhere and "kitty" either won't pee or she pees all over the place. Sand got in kitty's hair and feet and then all over my floor. About four pee's and the sand was all wet. Time for more sand! And it doesn't dry out terribly well, so I'm not even sure we can reuse it. Not such a bad thing, I think. I'd pass...

This Barbie has a pet cat, who comes with her own brush and comb, food bowls, a toy, and a cat carrier that turns into a litterbox. Which comes with several packages of real sand. The cat drinks water from a bottle, like a Betsy-Wetsy doll, and you can squeeze her to wet the sand in the litterbox. There is also a tiny little scooper to scoop up the mess.

I think they should have left it a cat carrier. I would think it would be more fun to play Barbie carries her cat somewhere than Barbie scoops out the catbox. In fact, Barbie could take her cat to the vet. Isn't there a veterinarian Barbie? If there isn't, there should be.

Anyway, thumbs up for doll and cat. Thumbs down for the whole catbox concept.

This is not the best barbie but it is pretty cute the cat really uses the littter but you have to clean up after that and throw what litter away so you know blech

This was a gift for my daughter's fourth birthday. After opening the box, to "litter" spilling out, realizing that it is sand we ended up throwing all of the "litter" bags away. This is not a bad Barbie, as long as you don't put water in the kitty to "pee" and you get rid of the "litter".

Although I have seen some harsh reviews regarding this toy, my daughter received this for her 5th birthday and just loves it! It may not have a very high educational value, but it's fun. She can be like Mom now. A word of warning, if you are a person who doesn't like play-doh, you may not want to get this toy. It can have it's mishaps like the sand getting on the table or floor, but my feeling is, that's what we have vacuums for!!! Let them have fun!

Can anyone say gross?What is this supposed to teach a child?Is it supposed to teach them how a kitty pees?Is it supposed to them how to clean a litter box?Please don`t even get me started!Unless your trying to teach your child about how to potty train a cat it`s not a good idea to purchase this toy.

My daughter loves kitty's so this was perfect for her. You get different colored bags of "kitty litter" (sand) to change the box and some other cat care essentials like a brush, bowl, bottle, and a mouse toy. The sand is a little messy, so watch where they open the bags. You even get a small replica of a Fresh Step Litter bag! Really cute!
