As a Barbie Collector since her debut in 1959, I have almost all of the Barbie books ever made. It would take a really different and outstanding book to impress me, and I have to admit, this is one of those books. The book is only 127 pages long and is a collage of very colorful and creatively pieced together photo's, Barbie art from her booklets, boxes, tv commercials, dolls, clothing outfits, cases, books, magazine and newspaper articles, licensed Barbie products, paperdoll sets, fan club magazines, games and great photos of Barbie's creator- Ruth Handler. A couple of the Ruth Handler photo's I have never seen before, and that is saying something, as I have loads of books and information on Ruth Handler.

The book also has a few surprises, just like the gorgeous TREASURE BOOKS that include copies of documents or items of interest. Unlike the TREASURE BOOKS, which have great items on every other page, this book has just a few items, but they make the book more desireable, since this is a first in a Barbie book and a great touch for her 50th Anniversary. The extra treasure items include a partial copy of the first booklet, first fan club welcome letter and i.d. card, patent for the first twist doll, Robert Best sketches for his gorgeous Silkstone dolls and a couple more.

This book is pure eye-candy and does not contain any significant information on the Barbie doll or her value. It is 127 pages of a brief, colorful history of Barbie from 1959 to 2009, and is a nice piece of memorabilia to always remember Barbie's 50th Birthday with it's great collage pages and extra little treasures!

I bought this book for my 9 year old Barbie fan. It is done in the style of a scrapbook and some pages have mini books and other extras to pull out. There's even an "official" Original Barbie Fan Club welcome letter. The colors and quality of the paper (the pages are very thick and kind of glossy)are phenomenal. This will be a book my daughter will pour over time and time again. I especially love seeing all the old barbies I had as a girl - and it's up to date with many of the barbies my girls have now. You won't be disappointed!

This is a fun book to add to your Barbie doll reference collection. It's more of a pop culture perspective than a reference book, but it has a fun perspective and would be a nice gift for Barbie fans of all ages.

This is a great book about Barbie. Although it doesn't have value indications, this book doesn't need it. I think it's really cool all the little supplements and details that were added into this book. The book is quite colorful and does cover an array of dolls through all the years and decades. I give this book 5 stars.

This book is a lot of fun. I was disappointed in the number of pages but the reproduction items are nice. Overall I was pleased. I recently received Barbie: A Rare Beauty and love it. It's big (224 pages) and filled with hundreds and hundreds of beautiful photographs of Barbie through the years, along with a lot of rarities. It's probably the best looking Barbie book I have ever seen. If you like All Dolled Up -- which I do -- you should check out Barbie: A Rare Beauty.

This is a very pictorally comprehensive book that is great for reading as well as looking through. One of my friends made prints from some of the pictures then framed and hung them in her daughter's room when they redecorated. I plan on doing the same thing this summer when we redecorate our daughter's room. There are so many fun pictures and little pull out features that really take me back to my first Barbie!

This book is fantastic! Not only is it a great coffee table book , it is also wonderful for the Barbie Collector with reproductions of the fan club letter from long ago and lots of other memorabilia .

My 10 year old loves the guide books for Barbie and this book is something a little different to add to her collection. It has great pictures and fun history on Barbie. It is easy to read and refer back to. She has gotten lots of reading time out of it since Christmas and it will be fun to hold on to for future generations.

Got this book for my teenage daughter for her birthday, and it is her favorite gift. The pictures and information are fun to see and read. The book takes you from the beginning days of Barbie to the present. We have enjoyed seeing Barbies from my day, the late '70s-80s, to the Barbies from her younger years. If you loved Barbie as a girl, this book is wonderful.

I absolutely loved this book. I was a keen barbie child of the late 70s and 80s and had a number of barbies so I really wanted to find out more about the history and when she has been since I have been out of the loop for the last 20 years. I loved it and could not put it down. Highly recommended!!! The images are wonderful. Especially the little letters and additional pull outs. So detailed.
