If you're a collector of the "Barbie as..." dolls (e.g. Wonder Woman, Marilyn Monroe, etc.) then this doll will be right up your alley. The people who have gotten the vapors over the doll's outfit need to relax. The doll has more clothes on than any of the beach-themed Barbies, for pity's sake!

The costume is a good representation of the one worn by Ms. Berry in the movie. If you wouldn't take your child to see this movie, you shouldn't buy the doll. It's that simple.

If you saw the prototype doll on Halle Berry's website (that most definitely looks like her) and were interested in purchasing that, don't get this doll. You'll be disappointed.(What happened, Mattel?)

[...] As a collector, I purchased Catwoman as a part of my 1/6 scale DC action figure collection. I currently own both Catwoman dolls produced by Mattel (the first one was introduced around October of 2003 and is now out of production). The craftsmanship of the clothing is superb, representing a more contemporary view of Catwoman. In addition to the multiple points of articulation, Catwoman also has a wip, adding to the authenticity of the character. My only complaint about this doll is its cheap cardboard packaging. It is enought to make a collector scream. Catwoman is collector's edition material and should be packaged accordingly.

The bottom line: I gave Catwoman 5 stars because of its collector's value. Any parents who don't like this doll need not buy it.

CATWOMAN could be a 100 Million Dollar mistake for Warner Bros, but Barbie looks ultra-cool in Hallie Berry's revamped outfit. I own the original BARBIE as CATWOMAN, so this one was a no brainer for me. For little girls it's a cool action figure and a great movie tie-in. And she's definitely a doll you can play with! I just can't wait to see Ken's reaction to her!

Seriously it makes a cool collector's item or a toy for a little girl who likes either Super Heroes or Halle Berry. Only gripe is the cowl is a little strange when you take it on or off. And the whip could get lost or eaten by a pet pretty easily. But you can have some fun switching out the costume with your other BARBIES! And it's very detailed. It looks great!

(...) I collect Barbies and so does my daughter. I purchased 6 for myself, my daughter and other collectors that I know. Barbie has revolved to various roles. Business, Classic, Heros and now as a mother. We have seen less clothing on regular TV. So stop the hate and appreciate the diversity that Mattel has boldly brought into the new Barbie world.

For those intimidated by the exoticness of the costume, let it be stated that the costume WON'T even come off unless you deliberately damage it. Besides, Malibu Barbie wears a heck of a lot less and nobody is boycotting her. I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't look like Halle at all (check out the Jinx doll if you can find it, dead ringer!), but still, I can remember a time when black barbies were rare, let alone bi-racial ones!! This doll exemplifies the changing racial dynamics of this country as well as the changing roles of women on film. Bravo to the Barbie makers for including this model in their long line of popular dolls!

This disgusting for young girls to play with. Ewwww. And we wonder why 10 year olds are dressing the way they do? C'mon moms - this barbie needs to be OFF the market.

I BROUGHT IT FOR MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WHO PLAYS WITH IT JUST LIKE HER OTHER BARBIE DOLLS.WE BOTH LOVE IT, AND IT GET'S LOTS OF COMPLIMENTS. CATWOMAN BARBIE IS A FEMALE SUPER-HERO FOR YOUNG GIRLS. BOYS HAVE "TONS" OF SUPER-HERO'S. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW SOME PEOPLE GET SO UPTIGHT ABOUT HER OUTFIT. I WOULD BE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT MY DAUGHTER PLAYING WITH A PREGNANT BARBIE (THE MOMMY BARBIE)AND HAVING TO ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS THAT COME ALONG WITH IT, AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE. KIDS ARE INNOCENT AND HAVE GREAT IMAGINATIONS IF GUIDED BY GOOD PARENTING. IT'S USUALLY THE ADULTS WHO THINK OF ALL THE FILTH.

I collect African-American barbies and this one was a great addition to what I have so far.

The movie "Catwoman" was kitty litter, but this doll is the bomb. She doesn't look like the actress Halle Berry, but her costume and attitude rock. Good pick for any Barbie Collector.

Excellent Barbie... my daughter has about twenty-five Barbie dolls and she has played with this one more than all the other ones combined. She loved Halle as the Catwoman and this doll is very true to Halle as Catwoman.
