Barbie Ballet Shoes Icon Doll

I got this doll. She is pretty and I like that her legs are pink. There is no stuff to worry about. Any little girl should get it. She is worth the price, too. Most of the ballet barbies are junk, but this one is pretty and modern! ;^)

Fun - Yeah, I'd make her dance.


Educational -

Pros - She encourages young girls to do ballet, or at least make SOMETHING of life instead of become just obsessed with fashion. And since Mattel doesn't provide too many accessories with her, young girls may create their own clothes for her - develop their creativity.

Cons - Her body is totally unrealistic - ever read the tale of the girl who had plastic surgery to look like her?


Durable - Yeah; her head doesn't pop off like THAT, her hair is easy to maintain, not falling out, and she doesn't come with so many accessories that get lost.


Personally, I prefer it that her legs are pink. Then she doesn't lok so naked when you take her clothes of - she looks like she's wearing stockings.

I got this doll free when I purchased another Barbie doll w/playset. Since they were both ballerinas, they made a nice combination for her 3-year birthday gift. This doll is not too complicated or fragile for young girls and her tutu is cute and well made. Her legs are painted pink so if you change her into another dress or skirt she will still have on pink stockings/tights. Her hair has held up in the same ponytail style for almost a year, even with the crowns that were put on and fell off of her head. My only complaint is that the ballet shoes fall off very easily. This doll usually stays in one room, so if a shoe falls off, we won't have to look too far to find it.

I purchased this doll because my 4 yr old daughter is in her first year of ballet. She loves playing with Barbie dolls and I just couldn't believe the price was so low. She likes interchanging the clothes with her other Barbie dolls. She can easily change her into her ballet outfit to go to dance class then change her into another outfit after the class is over. (Just like in her real life). Great for creative play. I do have to admit, this doll does look cute while wearing other dresses with the pink tights. I'm glad I bought it.

i have all three ballet barbies christie (blue) barbie (pink) and teresa (purple) and i threw teresa out a 4 story building only one scratch on her arm and we taught barbie how to swim no hairs fell out (but cali girl barbie hair fell out) and crhistie was left out in the sun by accident and she didnt melt so thanx mattel for such a beautiful doll

I got this doll a long time ago as a present from my great-grandmother, and she provided endless hours of fun. Since I didn't have a Ken at the time, my brother's Woody doll off of Toy Story became her boyfriend. She has held up well; unfortunately one day my brother and I were fighting over her for some reason (he wanted to throw her out the window, most likely) and in the doll-tug-of-war, her head popped off. Still she's a pretty doll and fun, but at Wal*Mart or even the Dollar General, you can get her for around $5.

My 4 year old really enjoys this doll. The ballet slippers do not come off, so the shoes are never lost! The tutu does come off, which my daughter was pleased about. It is very cute, and very tough...it has been in and out of the tub many times...and still looks great. For this price too...you can't go wrong.

I bought this for my 2 and half year old. (I removed the ballet shoes since those are a bit small for her and would probably get lost anyway.) She is so happy with her new 'baby'. She spins her around to the radio making her dance, and is getting alot of imagination play with her. It's nice that there is minimal small accessories for this particular Barbie making it a safe, easy to supervise doll.

Both of my Daughters received these Barbies as a gift, one has Barbie and the other has Threasa. They love these Barbies, they are easy to dress because the body is smooth, and the clothes slide on and off with ease. They are cute and the girls love that the legs are pink on one, and purple on the other, like built in tights!
Anyway this is a great 1st Barbie for little ones!

I was paying my little cousin a surprise visit, and I decided to get her a quick present. This was the cheapest doll on the shelf, so I bought her. And it sparked an interest in ballet in my cousin, and she is now signing up for classes. Thank you, Mattel!
