The boombox is great. Works easy; my four year-old has no trouble operating the cd player. Sound quality really good.

I bought this radio/cd player for my 4 yr old daughter. Although she's not a "Barbie" fanatic, she loves the colour and the appearance of the radio. The barbie button that lights up on the top of the cd player is a nice touch too. The sound is a little on the "tinny" side, but still quite good, especially considering the small size and price of the boombox. Most surprising is the impressive sound clarity at higher volumes. Both the cd player and the radio are fairly easy to navigate. The boombox does not have station display, but instead uses a tiny indentation on the tuner dial that you rotate to select stations, which makes it a bit more difficult for youngsters to tune in a station. However, an LED will light up when a station is properly tuned in. The cd player will only play regularly formatted cd's (not mp3 or other formats). However, there is an auxilary jack that allows you to plug in other music players such as an mp3 player or Ipod. (This is a great feature for my daughter, who has hundreds of songs loaded onto her mp3 player).

Overall, a great product and highly recommended.

When I first got this boombox in the mail, I was thrilled. My daughter (who is 4) absolutely loved it. It's very cute and perfect size for a little one. However, within about three weeks the player just stopped playing cds. We believe there is some sort of problem with the eye. If you aren't going to use the cd player that much, I bet it would work great. But if you know you are going to use it quite a bit, I would look at something else.

I bought this for my 6-year old daughter, who is very "girly". She absolutely loves it! Its not the perfect sound quality that I would prefer, but for the cost and since it is for a child, it is just right! It is easy for her to use. It was a good purchase - I recommend it!

Very nice product. My daughter loves it. Great sound. the only thing I dont like is that you can hear the spinning of the CD. A little annoying - but my daughter doesn't mind.

Our daughter used this player frequently in the 3 months she had it. She loved that it was pink, she loved the flashing lights when you pressed the jewel button, she loved her princess music over and over and over again. But then it suddenly stopped recognizing the CD. It wouldn't spin or anything, the display just said "no" (as in no CD inserted). At first taking the CD out and reinserting did the trick but very quickly even that didn't work. The display now shows odd, nonsensical characters and the player is completely nonfunctional. The radio still works but does a 4 year old really want to listen to the radio? No! She wants to listen to her princess music. Our daughter was very gentle with this product as I don't allow them to misuse any of their toys. This is just another poorly foreign- made "disposable" electronic item. I feel bad for my girl because it is past warranty and we no longer have the receipt or box and buying another $40 radio after 3 months is preposterous. Shame on Emerson. Shame, shame, shame.

This is the second CD player that I have ordered from Amazon and the second one that has arrived without a working CD player. The first one I just thought was a fluke but this one does the same thing...nothing. Its a very expensive (but cute) radio. I really NEED a CD player for my daughter...guess I will try actually going to the store to purchase it since Amazon has totally let me down (again) I really love Amazon and the ease of ordering online but I will think and think again before I order anything else online.

Our daughter received this as a gift, and we played her bedtime CD's every night for 11 months. One day, the CD player gave up and stopped working. It's too bad.. because we had no complaints otherwise. It's a nice product if it would have just kept running. The warranty is 90 days, so we're out of luck.

This is an awful CD player. We got the first one for our four year old and put it on top of the bookcase in her room (no one touches it but Mom and Dad). The CD player quit working after three days. The second one lasted four months, but now the CD player will not power up. I expected much better. And of course, because it's been four months, we can't return it. Save yourself the headache!

I bought this cd player for my kindergarten age daughter and it is absolutely perfect for her. She can work it with no problems, it took one explanation of how to use it and she was off playing her cd's and listening to the radio immediately. She loves it, and that makes me love it.
