to be honest i was attracted to the price but also scared of it because it was so low. but this dvd player works well so far, although it's been only 2 wks. no automatic tray sliding in & out to load or eject, instead you have to manually open the flower-shaped door to insert or remove the dvd. the remote, which is so cute, is really tiny and so are the controls and the labels of these controls which makes it hard to read them. but the dvd player is still a great deal. it's purse-shaped with a large flower on it that holds the dvd, and a jewel for a power button. it's not heavy, big or bulky. all in all not a bad purchase and the most important part is that my daughter likes it.

This item description is horrible! After seeing how cute it was and the price, I was sold! However, although the description states that this item plays cds/dvd ect. it DOES NOT state that you must have it hooked up to a television to hear/see them! The description calls the cd tray a "screen" which it is not. I refuse to put a tv in my daughters bedroom, so this item was sent back. Please change the description to reflect that this requires a tv so others are not mislead too!!

I wished I could give this zero stars! I took a risk and ordered this DVD despite reading some bad reviews. I wish I would have taken those bad reviews more seriously! After less than 2 months of using this DVD, it completely stopped working! Ridiculous! I had just started a video in it and it was off. I cannot get it to turn on at all. It worked fine for the first month and a half, but not it's a paperweight. Do not waste your money! We even tried to contact Mattel concerning this and no response. My poor daughter is so upset that the DVD player Santa bought her is ruined!

This piece of equipment came to me with something loose inside th player and stopped working on the fourth day i had it. The teturn policy says must be returned in same condition as received and i just didnt feel that they would believe it came to me broken after i had used it. However i will not shop with that company again

Bought this for my 6 year old grand daughter. She can easily use this (and so can I) to watch dvds. It also plays cds. I was worried it wouldn't play the new dvds but it's played all of them so far. Well built and cute too!

(6 months later and still no problems. works great)

I had this for about 10 days and I have to return it pretty sad about it because I have the matching TV I have to think if I will buy this again or a different one...
Amazon always is very friendly and nice customer support.

Nothing is broke on it but it just stopped working for no reason.
Really sad about it :(

What a deal! This little DVD player looks great and works well. A great buy and a great price.

I love this DVD player!
At first I thought I was going to have to send it back. I got it all set up and put a DVD in and it played for about a minute before stopping. I tried a different DVD. This time it just kept saying "loading" and wouldn't recognize the disc. I patiently tried a couple more times, changing CDs, opening and closing the player. I believe it was about the 5th try that finally the player worked and kept working. It seems it just got jostled during shipping and needed a little time to reset itself. We have had this DVD player for about a month now and have not had even one problem with it since.

I love that the DVD compartment opens by hand so there is no open button to get jammed. My 2 1/2 year-old daughter has figured out the stop and play buttons as well as the power button so can mostly work it on her own which I love almost as much as she does!

I have only two small complaints:
1) It is a bit confusing to a 2-year-old that the red light comes on when the player is off and goes off when the player is on, considering every other electronic we have does the opposite.

2) The player stands upright such that the disc has to go in vertically rather than horizontally like most DVD players, so it is very hard for my daughter to do on her own. And if you have a 2-year-old you know that just doing it for them is easier said than done when they put such value on doing things themselves! After only one broken disc, she is getting better, but I still wish it was a horizontal loader!

Bottom line, despite these little knit-picky things, this Barbi DVD player is super cute, one of the least expensive ones on the market, works great and is mostly so easy to operate that even a 2 1/2 year old can do it! I highly recommend it!

I have to be honest at first I thought this was a personal portable DVD player with a screen that your little Barbie princess can watch but it's not. It's a cute little barbie DVD player that she can pair with her existing TV or you can get her a little Barbie TV to watch this on. It's a great addition to her Barbie room, thanks!!

this "used" dvd was not working but I recieved a speedy, full refund.. Although I was asked several times to remove my negative review which was kind of strainge bc reviews are for letting future consumers know they are purchasing!
