4.0 out of 5 stars My lipgloss is poppin'
This toy is a lot of fun. Tons of entertainment. My child used most of the lip gloss mix to style the dolls hair which was fine with me. Just meant less lip gloss I would have to sneak and wipe off. She got the hair of the doll all kind of greasy...LOL. The glitter wand is a lot of fun to use even if you are not making lip glosses. I did wish they gave you more lip gloss...

[...] My children received it as a gift, so I'm just happy that I'm not out the money. The lip gloss making station does not work well. We have to stir the gloss by hand because the mixer it comes with just throws the gloss to the outside and then spins the bit on the inside. Mattel could have worked a little harder to make a mixer that actually mixes. It makes my daughters happy but for the price of the item, I would expect it to work the way it is supposed to. The children may not know they're being swindled, but the person coughing up the money for the head sure does.

A caveat to anyone who buys this toy anyway: Be careful you don't get Barbie's hair stuck in the mixer.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun at first, but not for long term use., February 15, 2009

My daughter was so excited to get this for Christmas, but once she mixed her first batch of gloss, that was it. She hasn't used enough "gloss" to empty the containers to do it again. Plus, once she saw how it worked, it didn't really catch her attention to do it again. She doesn't even use the gloss anymore either.
I'm kind of disappointed with this product. Other than making the gloss, there isn't anything else to do with it.

I purchased this for my grandaughter for a Christmas over the internet and had shipped to her....She is not allowed to use it that often as the makeup that came with it has to be made and mixed and caution DO NOT GET ON CLOTHES, WALLS, ETC ETC.....very very disappointed...Paid alot of money for it and the Ship and Handle and she is not enjoying it at all....explanations should be made more clearly when ordered on the internet....unsatisfied customer

She got the hair of the doll all kind of greasy...LOL. The glitter wand is a lot of fun to use even if you are not making lip glosses. I did wish they gave you more lip gloss canisters, my child likes mixing colors. We are all out of lip gloss making materials but she still styles the dolls hair. I bought more glitter to put in the wand.

My 3 year old talked about a Make Up Barbie for WEEKS before Christmas. I searched and researched only to have it all thrown out the window when she saw the Candy Glam Barbie Head, she wanted no other but it. So of course she got it. It looked so fun & impressive in the package (like breaking into Fort Knox to open), but the excitement dwindled after we got her out. Her hair is difficult to brush without ripping through it (or ripping it out), the candy clip doesn't stay in, at all. The only storage is a few holes where you are to hold the brush, wand & gloss bottles upside down, but nowhere to hold the cupcake gloss containers. Any little bump and everything goes flying. Last but not least the gloss tastes horrible, and is sooooo MESSY!! It is a liquid and doesn't solidify at all. It has to be applied with your finger so then the child has to wipe it off as well. Hmmmm, I wonder where? Well of course anything that is in arms length...their shirt, pants, carpet, chair, bedspred or anything else... that is not a tissue.

All this toy does is mix lipgloss and it doesn't even do that well. The "mixing" motor had a bent shaft so that the bowls would not even stay on it when your mixing. The whole head thing is superferlous, it does nothing except add [...]. When you mix the gloss it does not mix well and its almost impossible to get it out of the container because the "mixing" blades dont come out. Essentially what you get for [...] is a few tubes of lipgloss and a big mess.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She never played with it really. The containers that you mix the lip gloss in are extremely hard to clean, therefore a breeding ground for bacteria. She never did anything with the hair and the glitter was a huge mess. I think it is a cute gift and very well made, but not my favorite for my daughter.

I didn't think this product only made lip gloss...I thought it made hair color to color the hair. You can't even use the lip gloss on the doll. No little girl needs that much lip gloss!!

Hours of fun, especially for younger girls. Product was well packaged, needs to be easier to put away-but above all, my Grandchildren loved it.
