Barbie doll and Ken doll make a romantic pair in this vintage reproduction set. The bride is a jet black #1 Ponytail reproduction. She wears a reproduction of Wedding Day Set #972. The groom is based on the #1 Ken doll. His tux is also from 1961.

I compared this Jet-Black raven Barbie #1 repro with the My Favorite Barbie Blonde #1 repro, and this is the superior sculpt. The forehead is higher, the lips are fuller, and the eyes are painted a little better. I will have to buy another one to debox, but this has the BEST #1 repro Mattel has done yet.

My daughter gave us this set for Christmas as we had just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. It's a very special keepsake as Barbie also celebrated 50 years in the same year. The dolls are beautifully detailed in the original style I remember giving this same daughter when she was very young. It brings back a lot of good memories!
