Barbie Collector I Love Lucy: Lucy Tells the Truth Doll

The latest doll in the I Love Lucy Barbie line is almost as cute as the others...her face looks sort of "wild-eyed", but that's because of the episode it is from. Lucy was scared of the knife throwing act. Anyway, her look is relevant and cute but not quite as cute as other dolls in the series. It's really funny though. I think they did a good job on the design of it. I picked this one out in a store rather than order online because each doll varies in hair and facial expressions, and I picked out the best one I could find.

Her outfit is cute, and her hair is nicely done. It's elaborately curled. She has earrings on that are cute. There are cardboard knife handles sticking out of the board behind her. The one thing I can't understand is why Barbie dolls since the 90s are so spare in their packaging and leave out some details. You get cardboard items/accessories instead of plastic or fabric most of the time. In the episode, Lucy is memorably holding a scarf, which you can even see pictured on the doll box. Would it have hurt the company to add a small piece of fabric to the doll's hand...it would have looked better and added a nice touch. Especially for the price they charge. Interestingly enough, some sites are charging more than this one, but we found it cheaper in the store we went to. You have to shop around, but if you can't find it, Amazon is probably the best place to order it from.

I hope in future Lucy dolls, they add more details like the (missing) scarf. I would have rated this 5 stars if they had included that important detail.

Worth buying if you collect them as we do.

The new I love Lucy Barbie for 2010 is "Lucy Tells the Truth". This episode is when Lucy makes a bet that she can tell thr truth for a whole day and at the end she ends up lying to get in the act. She was frightened as this man throws knifes around her but then Ricky told her afterwards that they really come from the back and not to be upset. Another great I love Lucy episode. This is the second barbie that is done in a slightly different style. Starting last year with the Lucy Ballet a different designer did BOTH of these dolls including this new one. You can tell her body is just slightly larger as well as her face, she has larger lasher and fuller curly hair. I think the designer did an excellent job. The only thing I do not like is the ordinary style of the box with the last 2 Lucy Barbie sets. I personally do not like the new plastic boxes because they don't look as nice but they don't get quite as damaged easily. I would like to see the new Barbies to be done in hard plastic boxes. They would cost more but would probably be worth it.

I would have prefered a different episode then this I love Lucy Barbie also. There is still so many episodes they can design a Barbie afterwards. A few of my favorites is Lucy as Wicked City Women where Tennesee Ernie visits, Charm School with Lucy and Ethel, Lucy as Queen of Frackashan, Lucy is envious with the martians costumes on, and SO much more. I would have loved a more glamourous encemble!

I still love this "Lucy Tells the Truth" Barbie and think it looks better in person. It is a must have if you collect all of these like I do. The outfit is really pretty. It is done in a medium shade of blue and with gold accents, and her pants are done in black and are peddle pusher or capri style pant set. She has her famous hair do and beautiful earrings coppied from the style on the episode. She has a beautiful face and even a slightly frightened look on her face. Her lips have red lipstick and her mouth is slightly opened where you can see some of her teeth.

If you collect the Lucy Barbies like I do, then this is a MUST have for your collection!!!!!

I just love my "I LOVE LUCY: Lucy tells the Truth Doll". I have waited a long time to get her and I found her on Amazon. The price was GREAT! I love my dolls and look forward to the next one in the I Love Lucy series. Hopefully, I can get it at a great price!

This item was purchased as part of a collection, not as a toy. My wife loves these dolls and I have to drive all over town to find new releases. Now I know they are available at Amazon for a good price. I will purchase all new released here.

Very detailed, good looking doll. Was exactly as described, and makes a great addition to any I Love Lucy collection. Could only have been better if Mattel could have had some actual small balloons in the background to go along with the knives sticking out of the board.

I bought this doll for my collection. The doll itself is great but who ever did the packaging did a poor job. It was packaged with a Wii game that I purchased at the same time with nothing between the game and the doll. The case the doll is in has several marks which is not good for a collector. The item was excellent the packaging was terrible.

lucy has been great as a comedy icon.my wife collects the lucy barbie.so every year i get her the new one that comes out.the detail and the face makes lucy stand out like she always has.remember the value of these dolls go up.so get them while you can.

I bought this Lucy doll to add to my I Love Lucy collection. I have most of the dolls, but still need a couple to complete my collection. I am always looking for a good deal on them.
