Edward is a solid white plastic Ken type doll with sticky, spiky brown red hair and glitter spray over his head and chest. Edward and Bella arrive in two separate thin plastic boxes with Olympic National Park rain forest cardboard style backgrounds. Each doll also comes complete with a doll stand and unnumbered certificate from Mattel about the doll embedded into the packaging. If you don't want to play with them be aware that the packaging is a fragile thin plastic and may arrive cracked or broken as one of my Edward dolls packages did from a target location. Since I was planning to open a set any way I was fine with it as the second set of dolls arrived in peanuts from the another retailer. Edward and Bella are Pink label Barbie products so they are for collectors and kids but the packaging isn't durable enough to last for too many years of moving around from place to place unless you get a durable case to keep them in for the long term.

Edwards head can be squished, its a very soft plastic not hard. His hair is typical Ken and Barbie quality and is cut like Edwards in the Twilight films but a little long behind the neck. His shirt is striped not solid blue and is sewn together at a button point on the front so it stays in a specific form but the thread can be carefully cut for a child's everyday play. His hands and body are a harder white plastic typical of Mattel Barbie dolls. Overall the doll is a typical Ken and Barbie style Mattel doll made to look like similar to Edward Cullen to be enjoyed by anyone.

When I tried to order Edward and Bella Barbie from Amazon placing my order on October 6th I was forced to cancel my order a few days ago after getting yet another notice from Amazon that the release date would be into December for these dolls.

I thought it would be fun to add Edward to my vampire doll collection and I still think it was a good idea. However Edward is an Edward doll only because the manufacturer says he is. Any resemblance to Robert Pattinson seems to be a coincidence, a random happening. I guess Barbie should stick to their weirdly formed attenuated women collection. Silkie Robinson

Barbie Edward sparkles, but his hair is awful and he doesn't look like Edward. I suppose they used an old Ken and put sparkles and Edward's clothes on him.

I purchased both the Edward and Bella Barbie dolls because I am a lover of the twilight saga books by Stephenie Meyer. The Edward Barbie has very stiff, strange-looking hair, but it's kind of what I expected. He does sparkle, but doesn't resemble Robert Pattinson/Edward beyond that. It's still a great collectable item for any twilight fan.

I enjoy my brand new Edward doll. His cloth is very high quality. And it's so charming that he has sparkling skin and rebel hair. I'm not a twilight fan. So I bought it because he DOES NOT absolutely look like Robert Pattison, but he is in some way alike Paul Wesly from the Vampire Diaries? that's why I have called him Stephan Salvatore. I'm gonna buy for him a Barbie girl who is an exact copy of Elena Gilbert from the TV series (this is Barbie On Location Monte Carlo doll, very beautiful). Thus, I replace one vampire saga with another. The doll also has a certificate of authenticity and a stand. The only drawback is that neither hands nor legs can be bent. But his head is rotatable, much better than for most barbie dolls. I recommend this very good collector's doll.

i got an Edward Cullen doll for Christmas last year. if you want my completely honest opinion, i think that they could have made the doll look a little more like Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen. overall , the effect is rather nice. i think the sparkly skin was a bit much though. a hint of sparkle would have sufficed.
i have not taken the doll out of the box because i am a MAJOR Twilight merchandise collector. i have been collecting dolls for years though. i have over a hundred in my collection right now. most of which are collectible and vintage barbie dolls.

My 13-year old granddaughter screamed her lungs out over getting an "Edward" doll. She's seen the movies and is definitely a representative of "Team Edward." A perfect gift for her!
