This doll is beautiful(a bit pricy though,in your country,I live in Greece,and the price is much lower here).But despite thet,this doll is really worth having.Along with tis beautiful doll,and hours of fun,you also get the following:
1.The doll comes with a beautiful pink glittery gown,a royal gold tiara,a matching necklace,and adorable pink dancing ballet shoes.
2.You can play with the doll in three different modes:
-1.Let's Dance-the doll teaches you to dance using recorded phrases,and telling you what to do,also correcting you if your wrong.
-2.Dance Together-You both dance togrther.
-3.She Performes-Watch as she performes to music from the film.
3.The doll also comes with two wrist bands and a shoe clip that you need to play with the doll in the first and second mode.

We bought this for our barbie-obsessed daughter and she is not disappointed. She loves "dancing with Barbie". The toy is excellent, does so much, teaches dance moves and knows that our daughter is dancing along and encourages her. It's really amazing. Not like the Barbies I had when I was a child. My husband and I (and our daughter!) are blown away. Well worth the price (even though it's a lot).

My daughter LOVES Barbie 12 Dancing Princesses and had a 12 Dancing Princess party for her 4th birthday - she wanted this doll!! We shelled out the money at a local toy store (b/c you got the Dress up set for free) and my thoughts are:
1. She takes 10 batteries - be prepared!
2. She is LOUD - no volume control!
3. She isn't really in sync with your child in the "dance with me" mode - she does her own thing - that feature doesn't work well!
4. Even with brand new batteries - the sound is slightly distorted (I think b/c it is soooo dang loud!)
5. She must be connected to the base to dance (obviously) and she isn't much fun to play with by herself.

Overall, I think the idea is lovely - she is a very pretty doll, and my 4 year old loves her - but she gets frustrated trying to make her dance - and she finds the wrist bands and ankle band uncomfortable. I wish we hadn't spent nearly $[...] on this doll! (yes you can find her for much less than that).

I wish I had known more about her before I had purchased her!!

I thought this doll was very pretty, and a good value. We bought this toy for a 5 year old girl. We wanted to get her something special because her parents just had a new baby . She loved it. At the party I actually tried it and it was nice. The motor was quiet, and barbie really does ballet. The theme song for the movie was a really nice too. It was mellow and elegant. As a mom, I think the doll is a positive one for girls that love ballet.

My daughter was very excited to get this doll for her 4th birthday. Beware it takes 10 batteries! Also, my daughter is a little on the thin side and the sensor straps are too big (we use a rubber band to help hold them in place). You can play with the doll without the stand or try one of three dancing modes with the stand (must be on a hard surface). The motor noise is noticable but not terrible. My daughter likes to watch the doll dance and try to follow the dolls moves. I found the mode where to doll follows you very disappointing. It rarely did the same thing my daughter did. Overall, my daughter loves it and that's what I wanted.

Not only does this thing take 10 batteries, but it has 5 seperate battery compartments that all need a screwdriver to switch the batteries. How ridiculous! If something didn't work exactly right - how much fun would it be figuring out if some of the batteries were dead. I doubt I'll even put the batteries in at all, I'll probably just let her use it as a regular barbie doll. With the money I would spend on buying the batteries i could buy her a cheap toy @ Target that she'll actually play with. Also they packaged this thing like it contained gold. Took almost a solid half hour just to take it out of the packaging and it's impossible to do without ripping the packaging apart, which I'm sure makes it almost impossible to return. I agree with a previous review - Mattel should be ashamed of themselves for selling this product. They have taken advantage of the fact that every parent wants to please their child and marketing can be very deseptive. I will think twice before buying a mattel product in the future - out of principal.

My daughter asked her grandmother to buy this doll for her for Christmas. The first time we tried it out, it seemed to be ok. But the very next day, the doll did not work. Her right arm kept beating on her skirt. It wouldn't move to the positions it was supposed to. My daughter was very disappointed. So we exchanged the doll. The second doll is exhibiting the same behavior. It says one thing and moves in a different direction. This toy is definately NOT worth any amount of money!! Stay away from this toy.

My daughter received this as a gift from Santa. What a disappointment. She has been taking ballet for 2 years now and Santa thought this would be not only fun but good exercise for the winter months. My daughter was in tears and asked "Doesn't Santa try these things out before he gives them as presents".

She is a beautiful doll, but I don't think they really invested a lot of time testing these dolls. I think they just tried to get these out really quickly for Christmas. Next year Santa will try everything out first. We had a lot of disappointments with some of the 12 Dancing Princess stuff.

This was the hit of Christmas. My daughter loved the Interactive Barbie Genevieve. This doll will put a smile on any girls face.

My daughter received the dancing Princess Genevieve for a Christmas present and fell in love with it. After we managed to scrounge up the 10 BATTERIES it takes, we were disappointed in the results.

In Dance with me mode, the doll doesn't copy my daughter's movements exactly - half the time it's exactly the opposite. When Learning to Dance, the doll will reward her for the wrong things, and try and correct the right movements. My daughter took to yelling at the doll "But I AM doing that", which provided me amusement to watch, but frustrated my daughter.

My 6-year-old son however, was able to get it to mimic his movements exactly. How? We're not really sure....but she had more fun watching her brother play with it then she did trying to play with it herself.

Also, be aware that the volume is loud, and there's NO volume control on it at all. The theme song, while beautiful, gets old after the first 10 minutes as it repeats over and over at top volume.

It's a very pretty doll, and it is the Barbie from the Dancing Princesses movie, and she does love it for that reason - but it just left us wanting when it came to the dancing part.
