5.0 out of 5 stars This is a beautiful Fairy Barbie!
This doll is just too cute! The light-up feature is a little weird (there are lights in the thighs & the tummy, which alternate lighting up after you press the button). I wouldn't consider the lights a selling factor at all. The semi-translucent (see-through)parts of her body are really cool looking. The sparkly nature of her "skin" is very FANTASY-esque. 3.0 out of 5 stars beautiful yet breakable
My daughter recieved this doll and the similar Crystal doll for Christmas (2005). The dolls were beautiful and my daughter was so excited. Yet, when you take her out of the box her "skirt" falls off AND falls apart! I had to hot glue the thing twice, and it still wouldn't stay together and on the doll! For the money that I paid for these dolls I expected alot more.

Her hair is delightful! It's done in a set "do", so brushing it would probably ruin it (not a doll for little girls who love to brush hair!)... but the "do" she comes with is pretty enough to keep it that way.
The wings are okay (I'm a huge fan of the original Sparkle Fairies, so anything else is "okay").
As for the person who said the shoes don't stay on, 'you might as well throw them away', you can send them to me :D I think they're great- and if you can't make them stay on, use one of the small, clear rubberbands that come with almost every new Barbie to hold accessories in place in the box (you can't see the rubberbands holding the shoes on). But, yeah, anyone who buys this doll and doesn't want the shoes,I'll take 'em *wink*
The outfits are AWESOME. The skirt is a bit tricky to figure out at first. It's not like the old "Snap 'N Play" Barbie stuff- you do have to put a little effort into (or a child might need some help with it), but once it's on, it's beautiful. I used the purple outfit on a My Scene Birthday Party Barbie (with the purple glitter "tattoo"), and it looks marvelous on her. My husband saw her, and thought it was a new Fairy LOL!
The only thing I don't care for about with this doll is the price. I could do without the light-up effect if it brougth the price down a few bucks.
Over all, I give this a 5 STARS because I think she is a wonderful addition to my Fairitopia collection... and would be great for anyone who likes Fairies :D
I hope this review has been helpful for you :)

Jewelia the Glowing Fairy could be told as my favorite fairy doll ever, but here are some things/problems that I want to tell people about. Jewelia CANNOT, and I repeat CANNOT sit alone without something to lean on. Once, I put her on my desk, and she fell backwards. And, this doll CANNOT do spilts.(Front and slide) Her fashions are very delicate. Barbie's purple front part of the skirt broke, while i'm trying to fit it on with the back part. Tip: NEVER, EVER squeeze the skirt too hard, and be carefull. DON"T put anything heavy on top of it. It WILL be crushed. And, I was totally wrong about the wings. They will stay on for a while, (Like...for 2-3 days out of the package) But afterwards, they fall of constenly.
But overall I like to say that this doll was a big hit to me, and in this low price, ($9.99) i don't REALLY expect it to be perfect.(But hey, nothings perfect) I love the Glowing teqchiqies, and the cute face too! I would really recommened it to Fairy, and Barbie lovers. Hope this Helpes!

First of all the gel is in there to preserve her hair style. In other words it's not to be combed or brushed. The wings are fine. There are no wires that I can see as veins. I see the light bulbs when she lights up but no Wires. The doll is not easy to break unless you drop her off the empire state building or sears tower. The shoes also stay on fine you just have to put them in the right place and squeese them before you put them on the doll(s). The skirts are easy to snap on and so are the shirts.True there is no braclet and there isn't a second pair of shoes but oh well. This toy is beutiful and fun. The lights aren't as cool as crystals but Jewlia looks nicer than crystal. If anyone's foot or hand has fallen off if it's probably because your children are being to ruff with her. So what if she can't bend. When barbie first came out she couldn't even move. That was back in the 1950's. The pigtails of brown mixed with highlights of blue is to cute.I love her purple out fit the most. If you want to talk to the people who made the doll and about the missing parts then call the number on the bottom of the box or the one in the instructions. The skirts also stay on just fine. If your dolls skirts are not staying on to good then maybe you're not doing it right please read the instructions. You can also mix and match the skirts. Please read this reveiw it will come in handy. The glitter in her arms and legs makes her look like a real fairy. Also the back part of the skirts the things that go on the dolls body make her look like she has jewels on her stomach and I thought that was cool. This is a very simple and durable hard to break toy. It would bring fun to any girl.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Glowing Fairy Ever!!!, June 15, 2006

I'm very suprised of all these bad reviews on this toy. I mean, this toy is VERY cool!! And it really sparks your imagination. Her wings, clothes, and her crop top stays on really well!! Only her shoes didn't stay on. But that's actually fine with me. Her shoes are very thick, and in my opinion, they don't look good on Jewelia's thin feet. When you put her skirt on, remember to but the front part on first(It might not be on the instructions, but that is due to my own experiances.) then, when you snap on the the back part, be sure to clip on at least one part of the front skirt, so that the back part and the front part will be conected. After that, it won't fall unless you threw it, or simply removed it. Her wings are very very beautiful!! It sparks with 3 different colors, Purple, White, and Turqoise. It's very brilliant. I love her glowing teqniches. After you push the button at her back, her body, and her two legs will glow altogether, then, the right leg dims down, and then the body follows, afterwards, two legs darkened, then, all togaether, they glow again, and they stop. (I'm not really sure if everysingle Barbie has the same glowing system, so I had my own Barbie for an example.) Her whole body is like...see through, except for her legs. Her face is really cute, and her hairstyle is like...there are two pony tails at her back, and then, it's parted in to 3 parts, and at the front, it is highlighted blue, with a little remains of brown. Here are my explanations for my stars:

Fun: Defeinatly!!! I spend hours playing with her, and flying her around the house!!!

Educational: Not if you're learning about fairies!! but sometimes, toys are for people to enjoy, not to LEARN!!

Durablility: I'm not really sure, but due to her stiff body, it MUST last me for a looooooong time!!

Overall: This is a really cute toy, and i highly recommened it to any fairy lovers, or Barbie lovers. A very sweet barbie to add to anyone's collection. Hope this Helpes!!!

Barbie Fan

This doll is very beautiful way more than Crystal, however its cloth is a bit hard to put on and the wings fall quit a bit. Other than that its a good doll for older people 9 and up. I believe Matel needs to improve it's quality though.

Hi again. I have had this toy for two weeks now and have not broken yet. The only thing I broke is her hair and that's because she accedentally fell in some water and the gel washed off in the period of at least ten to five seconds. Other than that everything works even the lights which is her coolest asset. The shoes are still on, the clothes work just fine, I have been rough with her at times and she has not broken. I just don't understand why some insist on saying its a bad toy. The shoes stay on. Her hair is fine except for the curls of which I must get some gel for.

First I would like to say I gave this 3 stars because despite everything wrong with it my daughters do love it and haven't stopped playing with it yet.
It is also very pretty and the light up feature is kinda cool.
That said, the shoes aren't really shoes and they don't stay on at all, so you might as well throw them away. The outfits are impossible for my 6 year old to get on so I have to keep clipping the skirt on. You can't bend her knees so as a doll that kinda sucks.
Also she's VERY hard and my kids are older than the smacking with toys stage, but if you still have one fo those, don't buy this because they could hurt someone!
The translucent body that allows her to light up can look kinda scary, more so with no clothes on. Although since she's kinda blue she doesn't look as naked when she is naked, so if your daughter is in the naked barbie phase, that's a plus!
Anyway...pretty, but not very well made.
Check out the reviews for the crystal doll too as they are the same doll only with different colors.
